Canebrake Horse Camp has 28 sites with parking spurs for horse trailers. Four of these sites are double camp sites. Each site has a picnic table, grill, fire ring, lantern post, tie posts, tack tables, and electrical hookups. Up to two vehicles are allowed at each site.
Great local State Park. Lots of trails, has swimming lake, waterfalls. The only water/elect sites are for camp host and their guest. We camped at Hanging Rock State Park in a Tent.
This campground is used for the OHV groups it is an open field with ramps to unload your four wheelers. There are no amenities just and open field.
There is a gate that opens during hunting season which adds more camping sites, but the only pit toilet is at the entrance. Heavy rains flood several of the sites. Many people come just to hike the trails that cross nearby, there are more cars than campers.
Very primitive, but close to town if you need anything. Sites are very close together, no privacy. Most campers are here to hunt so are gone most of the day. It was not crowded when I was there during the week. I was only there on a Tuesday.
The price has increased this year from $5 to $10 even though they have made no improvements. Pit toilets are looked at daily and stocked with toilet paper.
This camp site is only open during hunting season
