Singletary Lake State Park offers group camps available to nonprofit organizations. The camps provide a unique camping experience, creating the perfect setting in which to interpret natural surroundings and to unite in work and play. At least 20 people must be in the group, and the group must also be a part of a verifiable organization.

Camp Ipecac can accommodate up to 84 people. It is open from April 1 through October 31.

The camp includes 10 standard cabins (twin bunk beds for 8 people per cabin), and one cabin that is accessible to people with limited mobility or disabilities (twin bunk beds for 4 people total). It also includes an accessible mess hall and an accessible bathhouse with restrooms.

All amenities are provided for campers, except for food, cleaning supplies, and bed linens.

A basketball goal, a volleyball net, a horseshoe pit, a group-sized charcoal grill, and picnic tables are located near the cabins. A campfire circle in each camp offers the perfect setting for an evening of fellowship and marshmallow roasting.

The facilities were built by the Resettlement Administration. The camp was named for Carolina Ipecac, Euphorbia ipecacuanhae, a herb common in the region's sandy soil. Extract taken from the herb's dried roots is used for medicinal purposes.

    Willow Tree RV Resort

    Amazing vacation

Best RV Resort we’ve been to so far. Large lots with nice long pull through, clean and quiet with a friendly staff. Amenities included nice swimming pool and hot tub. Volleyball net and basketball hoop on each end of pool. Shuffleboard, corn hole, sand volleyball. Game room had a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey. Books galore to borrow, DVDs if you have a player which we don’t, but we don’t camp to watch TV. Store had a puzzle you could spend time working on and a checkerboard with rocking chairs to just hang out in. The lake beach was closed for the season when we went but the inflatables looked like they would have been fun! Mile long paved path around the lake was great for walking or biking. Catch and release fishing too. Had a mix of annuals, short term campers and on the other side of the lake they had nice cabins and a small park model village. Exercise room and a nice clean laundry room. Bath house was 8 individual doors to full individual bathrooms of toilet sink and shower which were kept very clean. Cherry Grove beach was only 15 minutes or so away and there was a Food Lion less than 10 minutes for grocery shopping needs. Resort store had reasonable prices for ice and wood to burn in the fire pit. Only negatives which weren’t a big deal was nothing can be strapped to trees... aka no laundry line or hammock attached to the trees and no tents allowed. We will go back! Wish it was closer to home.

    Halloween Weekend Oct 26-29, 2023

Absolutely 100% recommend this place. Store: It is one of my top three stores. Offer plenty of games, grocery, apparel, parts, and other stuff. Spaces: Have plenty of space between you and your neighbors. Roughly 2-3 trailer widths between on both sides. Every spot is concrete, pull through, fire pit, and picnic table. Environment: Very friendly!! The lake fun was closed but the puppy beach was not. But there was a hot tub, pool, and kiddie pool. Halloween Celebration: They had an arts a crafts event we did not attend because the kids wanted to swim. But trick or treating was awesome for the kids, adults, and puppies. We briefly went to the Halloween bash but hurried over to go on the haunted hay right through the forest. It was really well done! Bathhouse: There is one but I did not utilize it because I use my trailer. Reservations: Super easy! Military get 15% discount. You can reserve up to 400 days out. Half of it is due at time of reservation and the rest at arrival.

    Florence RV Park

    Drive-By RV Parking Lot Community

This spot is so close to I95 (look for exit 169) that you’ll both feel and hear the swoosh of passing by traffic 24/7. So, while you’ll incur ease and convenience, that will come at a cost (privacy and quietude being what you will sacrifice most).  Located in the NE pocket of the Palmetto State, Florence RV Park, while not a destination per se, could be a nice (and incredibly easy) layover on your trip destination to anywhere else up or down this major east coast highway artery.

Despite the location, this spot has a lot to offer: an intimate little public pool behind the management office, WiFi hotspots, dog park, scattered picnic tables (in pretty good condition), kid’s playground, 20 / 30 / 50 amp hook-ups, dump station, dog walk area, catch & release fishing pond, propane refueling station, vending machines, small pond for fishing, basketball court, volleyball, badminton and horseshoe rings. There’s even 4-5 log cabins for rent at the front of the property (with full access to all the highway noise) and of course, good old fashioned on-site laundry facilities along with a mini-store that has most of the basics covered as well as fairly spartan shower / bathing facilities.

Insider’s tip? Here's a few: (1) The further east you are on the property, all the better as you’ll be positioned as far away from I95 traffic and noise; (2) If tent camping, I highly recommend spots #A7 – A13 and if you are RV’ing I recommend #L9 – L18 as well as any of the locations on J, K and F11 – F16; (3) There’s a lot to explore near here, from the Grand Strand of South Carolina, of course, Myrtle Beach and even Darlington Raceway, so if you don’t mind the overpopulated location with its westerly view of non-stop traffic, then this could be a good place to stop for the night or from which to launch your exploration of the area; (4) If you’ve looked at this RV campground’s website, don’t be fooled by the pictures – I don’t think any of them were actually taken of the place, save for the pond, and that was a close-up; and (5) If you are looking for a nearby spot to sample the local fare, I recommend checking out The Drive-In Restaurant with its 50s era nostalgia, big juicy burgers, fried everything, homemade onion rings and thick, creamy chocolate shakes.

    Happy Camping!

    New Years Eve Weekend

We stayed here over New Years Weekend, dates were December 30th, 2022 to January 2nd, 2023. We had such a great time!

Amenities that were closed were the Big Pool and Waterpark.

But the following were still still open: Lazy River (Heated), 2 outdoor and 1 indoor pools (heated), 1 outdoor and 1 indoor jacuzzi, mini golf, basketball courts, gaga ball, Tennis Courts, and in the outdoor court yard many small activities. Indoor activities that were open were the indoor arcade, mini bowling alley, and Fitness Center.

For food they had a little cafe that offered good food and drinks. They do have a happy hour.

They offered a general store with a good array of items not limited but to include RV Parts (Surge protectors, sewage parts/ Treatment, Propane Hoses, Coax Cable, etc), condiments, basic groceries, alcohol, souvenirs, and outdoor games.

The only not positive thing was that we made reservations for a New Years Eve Buffet. For 3 adults and 2 kids it was $225.00 dollars. The food was good but I don’t think it was worth that.

Golf cart rentals for a 4 seater were $75.00 a day. We did it for one day.

Camp Ipecac Group Camp — Singletary Lake State Park

    Nice spot for family/friends gathering

This is a spacious group camping area; You can rent some cabins and/or rent RV spots so if you have a mixed camping family, so came come in their rvs/trailers and others can rent a cabin and y'all will still be next to each other.  The park is on the smaller size but has a few hiking trails that are very nice.  It also has a trail that goes around Singletary lake!  The lake is awesome, great kayaking and fishing!  The area is just away from White lake and Elizabethtown to be secluded and private but close enough to get what you need from the Walmart or Food Lion in town!  There are also a decent number of "hometown" restaurants in town if you want to go out to eat!  Georgio's is awesome!

Pedro's Campground at South of the Border

    Roadside RV Amusement Park

If you haven’t been to a roadside circus lately or don’t want to shell out the dough for Disney World, then this particular RV amusement park location just off of I-95 and due south of the North Carolina/ South Carolina border may just be the perfect spot for you.

With a wide-array of parallel, elongated parking lanes for your parking pleasure, all of the sites come equipped with the typical 30/ 50 amp electrical hook-ups, waste disposal and water connections. There’s the standard picnic table, fire ring/BBQ, garbage receptacles, 3-4 communal bathhouses and even a handful of community BBQ’s.

The hosts, who work out of the Camp Pedro Store/ Office are incredibly nice and offer pricing by the night or week. There’s not a ton of amenities to pick and choose from– APART FROM THE NON-STOP LINEUP OF AMUSEMENT PARK options you will find everywhere! But the campground itself features 2-3 community playgrounds, group BBQ’s and the everything-you-need store. And while I looked, there’s no pool to speak of.

Insider’s Tip? Near this RV parking lot, you do have access to Betsy Jackson Bay if you want to get away and off the beaten path a bit to explore nature… otherwise, head back to Pedro’s, put on your silly hat, load up the car full of tchotchkies and get your fill of this whacky Tex Mex experience!

    Happy Camping!

Little Pee Dee State Park Campground

A quiet and clean state park

Little Pee Dee State Park is a quiet and clean campground on the banks of Lake Norton. Locals often come here for fishing and non-motorized boating.  We were fortunate to witness a mass crayfish event--the recent flooding had brought them out of the swamp and up the spillway, much to the delight of seafood lovers.

The campground had two different campground hosts, and they kept the restrooms and campsites immaculately clean.

Campsites have a fire ring/grate and a picnic table, but no trash cans, and you'll need to bring your trash to a large bin located at the edge of the campsites.

There are some nice sites right at the edge of Lake Norton, but the abundant water plants don't allow you to fish from the side of the lake, and it's not really a swimming lake. These sites accommodate RVs and have water & electric.  If you're on a budget, there are tent-only sites off the water.

The campground recently built a sleeping cabin, which is a cute structure with air conditioning/heat, bunk beds, and a free-standing bed (the cabin sleeps four, total). Guests can use a fire ring and Adirondack chairs, hammock, and grill.

The park also has a nice shelter for use.

There is no WiFi here, and cellular internet is spotty. There isn't a camp store, but the Ranger Station does have ice, firewood, and a small number of souvenirs for sale.

    10/10 Must Visit

BEST CAMPGROUND EVER. This campground has everything, most campgrounds claim they are a resort when really there a dump. This place is a true resort, it is very clean and modern. The campground has so much to offer... pools, activities, game rooms left and right, it’s just stunning. There’s places to walk everywhere, cabins are like 5 star hotels, they have a huge water park, mini golf, bowling ally and so much more. Would highly recommend. I’ve never had a campground have me speechless. I really enjoyed my time here. This place is new and I hope it continues to thrive and stay in good shape. My new favorite place 👍🏻

    Myrtle Beach Travel Park

    Good for the price

This is a pretty good RV park the Myrtle Beach area is one of our favorite places to go to RV parks and this is one of the ones that offers the ability to rent golf carts and also go close to the beach you still have to hike a little bit it's not as close as Pirate Land or the one that has the pier but it's pretty close it has a nice pool and it has some good facilities. We did have some issue getting delivery here as they wouldn't let the doordash drivers in we had to meet them at the gate.

Bathrooms: 4/5 clean but no AC so it smells a bit like pee the time

Sites: 3/5 super close no cable just water electric and sewer

    Pools: 5/5

Beach: 3/5 good but not as close as it should be for the price

    Waterfrontness: 1/5

Closeness to other sites: 1/5 you are up each other's buttcracks

    Dog rating: 4/5

Internet: no provided internet but we were able to use our ATnT hotspot router

Cell service: 5/5 Google Fi & ATnT worked

Water quality: 2/5 definitely beach water.

Extra amenities: Golf cart rentals, kayak rentals, paddle boat rentals, bike rentals, scooter rentals, fishing rod rentals, iced by, laundry facilities, Putt-Putt.

    Brunswick Beaches RV Resort

Well equipped - a little for everyone - close to several beaches!

Brunswick Beach Camping Resort is easily found - just off highway 17 in Sunset Beach NC.  This campground has RV sites, tent sites and even little cabins.

As you pull off the road, it is set far from the road - which we liked!  This made for quieter nights without being able to hear passing traffic on the road.  You pass by the tobacco field on the right and pull into the campground.  This road is very skinny and I had to pull off several times to let a car pass.  As I pulled in there was a store immediately to my right where i went in to register.

I could see the swimming pool, volleyball court and horseshoes from just outside the store.  As I walked around the store, i noticed the laundry room and a bathroom attached to the back.

I like some of the scenery out back - a bit of water - some trees.  Yet there were many RV's and the sites were so close together.  Many activities for our kids - yet not one where we would be able to spread out and let them be free without worrying we were disturbing someone.

We had great cell phone service and free wifi while here - so if that is something you are looking for - look no further!  The little store sells a bit of everything you might need - and grocery stores are located within a few minutes down the road.

    Apache Family Campground

    Laid back beach front campground

Basically everything you need in one location. Pool & other activity areas, camp store & laundry, gift shop, pier , and restaurant. Vacation rentals & rv spots are fairly tightly spaced, bath houses located in every quadrant & clean. Short walk or golf cart ride to the ocean no matter your location in the park. This would be a great location for families looking to entertain the kiddos....

    Pine Lake RV Resort

    Very relaxing place

The road to is dirt with sand mix, they good a good job of keeping it graded. The ownership and management are very nice people and are super responsive to everything. The park is clean with a lake to finish in and hiking trails that you can go explore. The only down sides are that the sites are pretty packed close together, some trailers seem run down and abandoned, and there is a rooster that goes around that will attack. Great place to get away and hang up your hat for a few days.

best rv park at myrtle beach

We have stayed at Carolina Pines 4 times with the last time being for a month. It was a wonderful experience with the staff providing activities, especially on the weekends. There are 4 pools and a water park for the kids. During the summer weekends they provide pool service for drinks which is really nice. Electric golf carts are allowed and they have rentals on site. The resort also has a beach house directly on the beach with shuttle service. Sites are well maintained. We will be spending New Years week there and understand that it is completely full!  This has become our go to beach resort.

    Convenient, clean, safe, and fun

We stopped here for an overnight and were thrilled by the facility. It’s perfect for an overnight or a day. Plenty of paved pull though sites. Fenced in and safe. You can walk to the restaurants and shops at South of the Border. We ate at a fine steak house. We will stop there every time we are traveling on I-95. I’ll add a photo in about a month when we stop there again.

Really nice campground. A lot of pull thru sites. With table, electric, water, sewer. Low lights, garbage cans. There's a BMX training facility camp at the back. Dog friendly 2 playground. One rusty and the other newer. 3 Bath houses with laundry and area is fenced in. Security patrols. Close to everything

Pedro's Campground at South of the Border

    Campground at a Tourist Destination

South of the Border is a tourist trap, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. There are lots of things to do, and more ways to spend your money, including souvenir shops, a fireworks store, Christmas decorations, and more. If you are in the area or passing by on the interstate, it is a must see, even if it’s just to say,“I’ve been there.” I’m not sure of all the“attractions” they have, but I got the chance to visit a couple of them while I was staying there. We were on our way to Wilmington, NC, which is a LONG drive from home, so we decided to stop. The campground itself is clean and well-maintained, and there was a fence around the entire campground. There is a laundry, a playground, and all the hookups you need. However, in the background, you can hear the noise of some mechanical machinery. I’m not sure if it was a power station for the place or what, but it was bothersome. Other than that, our site was shaded and had plenty of room. Since it was in the middle of the week, we didn’t have neighbors and that helped. The bath house was modern, had tile floors, and the showers were hot. The biggest attraction for us, other than being conveniently on the way to our final destination, was the reptile museum. It claims to be the largest of its kind. It was very interesting to see the various snakes, alligators, and crocodiles. I know my grandson loved seeing all the animals. Overall, the campground was nice, but it didn’t have a swimming pool. It was adjacent to the attractions and its neon lights, and of course, my son had to buy some firecrackers before we crossed the border. I would recommend it for anybody who has not been there, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet, the noise from the interstate and the sound of machinery won’t give you any.

    Quirky and close to interstate

We just stopped for an overnight. Had a pull thru with full hookups. You def can't miss it from the road... it's got a lot of neon and a ton of sites. Would stay again if passing through for sure!
