Taos Ski Basin

Hikers targeting Wheeler Peak and Williams Lake will find overnight parking at this ski area base, where several large lots accommodate RVs without hookups or registration requirements. The facility provides WiFi and reliable cell service, with security supervision ensuring a safe overnight stay. Access requires a 30-minute drive up a steep, winding but well-paved road from Taos.

The parking arrangement works well for multi-night stays within reason, giving trail access to Wheeler Peak, Williams Lake, and Bull of the Woods. For campers seeking more traditional campground amenities, Twining Campground sits just northwest with developed sites.

Great free camping right by the Ski Village--cool nights, good wifi and pho

There are several large parking lots near the Ski Village where RVs can park overnight--several nights within reason. No hookups of any kind, but good wifi and phone connectivity. No reservations necessary and no registration procedure, but good security and supervision. Access to trails to Wheeler Peak, Williams Lake, and Bull 'o the Woods.

Half hour drive over winding steep road from the town of Taos, but well paved and not exposed.
