Nice Campground, loud nighttime visitors

There are vault toilets, trash bins, and bear boxes. This campground is nice with sites for RV and tent camping. We camped here one night with our scout troop. I did have spotty T-Mobile service, others had phone service as well but I’m not sure of their provider. We had a great night with a…

Relaxing weekend getaway

Came recommended by a friend. Beautiful secluded spot in the Manzanos. Nice kid-friendly trails adjacent to the campground. We had a nice shady site, some others seemed more exposed.

Nice location

This is not the state park campground. This is the NFS campground in beautiful setting. No reservation required. Right next to trailheads. Great Mountain biking on forest roads that link canyons. Toilets but no water so come prepared.


Red Canyon Campground is located in New Mexico


From Tajique, NM, take State Rt. 55 south 9.1 miles to campground sign at "Y" intersection. Bear right at sign onto State Rt. 131 and go 2.4 miles to another campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 2.4 miles to another "Y" intersection. Bear right and go 0.8 miles to equestrian section. Bear left and go 0.1 miles to RV/tent section.
