        Riverbend Hot Springs

Access to Hot Springs is Worth Every Penny!

There are a few hot spring resorts that we keep in the back of our minds, always ready to return whenever we’re within striking distance…and this is one of them!  A good friend who used to live in T or C raved about this place, and let’s say she was not wrong.

While the campground itself isn’t much to write home about (just a parking lot across the street), quick access to the pools, the environment, and the scenery are simply amazing. The campsites are full-hook up slots, tastefully divided by local plants and shade trees, but very close to each other. You’re within the city limits, but it feels somehow more like a quiet neighborhood.

The resort offers showers, bathrooms, and of course a multitude of pools at different temperatures to balance whatever the weather might throw at you. With nothing but the Rio Grande River, and the Chihuahuan Desert sprawling into the distance, the resort is serene, and feels a million miles away from the interstate which is only a couple miles away.

Even with the electrical hook ups, we still gathered all we needed with our solar powered system, and our south facing campsite was perfect for satellite internet as well, even though the resort has some spotty wifi.

The town within walking distance has everything you might want, especially if you like New Mexican cuisine, the answer is always “Christmas” WYKYK. Gas, food, Walmart all close by, etc. it’s all there.

Nearby is the Elephant Butte State Park with a massive reservoir for all kinds of boating recreation, mountain biking and hiking. Just make sure you go at the right time of year! Also check out the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge if you are at all interested in birds and other wildlife.  You'll find reviews for all of these places on our The Dyrt Reviews.

Great spot for a night or two

I stayed here for CDT Days. Great location walking distance to everything. There’s a grocery store around the corner. Super quiet. Woke up to the birds chirping away. Priced fairly and would stay here again.

        Hidden Valley Ranch RV Resort

Very nice and not expensive, no tent sites

2-night minimum, at the end of a maintained gravel road. I have a camper van, no hookups, and paid $48 for two nights. Large rec room with full kitchen, satellite tv, pool table, and pop/candy/ice cream for sale. Laundry and hot showers. Very friendly and a majority of sites are long time full timers. Cash or check only, no credit cards. Good wi-fi. Propane available. About 10 miles to town and 30 miles to City of Rocks state park.

        Amazing glamping stay!

Highly recommend this gem. It’s tucked away and such a cozy and slow place to stay. We stayed in a campsite for 5 nights. Highly recommend more than one day so you can enjoy the springs and the town! It has lovely clean hot spring tubs that are open 24/7. It’s an intimate camp so we rarely had to wait for a tub. Also has clean bathrooms and showers and a grill. 2 blocks away from Main Street and 2 blocks from the Rio grande. Great host and great service too.

        Silver City RV Park

Cute, Smaller Campground - Fairly priced

This camp ground is conveniently located to Old Town Silver City.

The staff is friendly, the site was clean and level. The bathrooms and showers were clean as well. They were very fairly priced. I booked for one night but may well stay for two.

They have a nice laundry facility. It was a quiet enjoyable stay! I would come back again.

        Nice park in Silver City!

We liked Rose Valley Ranch and would stay again. We didn’t talk to a soul our entire 3 day stay. We kind of felt isolated which isn’t a bad thing necessarily if you’re not looking for that sort of thing. The sites are huge and feel very private, offering a little fenced in, personal yard at most sites. The bathrooms were very clean and also private feeling. There is only one dumpster and it was very far from our site. Walking around will also involve walking through dirt areas to reach your destination. All in all though it’s a nice, private, roomy park that puts you right near Silver City’s local shops!

        Amazing Nightime Hot Springs

What the other reviewers have said regarding the gravel spaces is totally true. What I wish to add is that the springs at night are amazing. We got there at 9pm and there were three other people there which were hard to spot as the place is fairly large. There are multiple pools with differing temperatures. Everything was quiet and beautifully lit. There were ample places to sit ranging from lounge chairs, to regular chairs, to hammocks. One of the pools even had two macrame swings. There was also a sauna and two outside showers. The spa sits on a water way and across the water there appear to be condos that were also lit up. The nighttime serenity and views were stunning. We will return in the morning to see what that experience is like, but even if it doesn’t compare, it’s very worthwhile even if you only go at night.

        Basically a parking lot

The hook ups are all There and it’s easily accessible to the hot springs , but don’t expect any privacy or space. You’re paying for a parking space to have access to the hot springs . We’ve stayed here 3 times , it’s always clean and everything works. I love the hit springs but would prefer to stay in my rv than an overpriced room. You cross the street and you are in the hot springs , even gravel parking. Wi Fi is great , there is a convenience store within walking distance. Free coffee and tea in the morning, overall a safe and clean place to stay while you visit the Hot Springs.

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were here for just an overnight in site 4, the alley side. We had no issues getting backed in after dropping and parking our tow in the overflow next door. There is a butte mural on the wall across from the alley sites, which helps the view“a little”. The campground is small, but does have shrubs between the sites, but then you’re not here for the campground. This was our second visit and we really like this hot springs. They have both private and“public” pools of various temperatures. There is also a park and“bark park” just a block away.

        Soak yourself

The rv sites are narrow and short, but you're not here for the rv park, are you?? It's all about the soak, and staying as an overnight guest allows you unlimited access to all of the communal pools. The pools do NOT disappoint, especially at night when the crowds die down to just the overnighters. Don't miss Full Moon Kitchen, the food truck next door, for your breakfast in the morning. Yumm!

        Wonderful hidden gem! 🌴🛀🌵

This is a cool & nicely maintained RV/campsite with a few permanent vintage trailers & a yurt. It is only a short walk to Main Street but it is very quiet at night. Highlight: It includes access to incredible mineral water baths built out of kitschy farm troughs!

The sites are separated by corrugated walls, so there is a nice amount of privacy while still having a cozy, vintage, community feel. The bathrooms are very nicely maintained and clean, and there is an awesome shared space with a fire pit. We planned to come for one night and stayed five! Can’t recommend it enough. Did I mention the mineral baths?!

We originally reserved one night and stayed 4. This modest little park (fairly priced) is next door to a market, 4 blocks from Silver City’s wonderful old town, and 7 blocks from a great dog park. They have a clean little laundromat, clean bathrooms, and friendly helpful staff. And a small coffee shop. We’ll be back.

        Gila Hot Springs Ranch

        Close to Gila National Monument

We pulled right into our campsite with hot and cold water at our site. I believe they pull it from the natural hot springs that run beneath the mountain. What a treat! Even if you're not glam camping with a fancy RV it's perfect! How many times have you had to wash your dishes in cold water st a campground. I pull a 37ft gooseneck horse trailer that is now used for camping. No amenities but next best thing to camping in a tent. There is a short walk to the natural hot springs down by the river which is really rustic and relaxing. Especially after climbing the step to the cave/cliff dwellings which are approximately 4 mi further up the road. The restrooms are flush toilets, hot water and a heated floor. Super clean! You can pay a small fee to utilize the "hot tub" which is more modern but the best part is that there's no ceiling! That means as you sit in the hot tub you're privy to the unobstructed view of the Milky Way! Bring a pair of binoculars! We saw several shooting stars and we blown away by the majesty of the heavens which were out "ceiling"!
You can get out of the hot tub, go directly into the restroom/shower. There's a code to enter the two shower/hot tub complex. Great because it keeps unexpected/uninvited guests from entering. We parked at site #08 close to the restrooms. There are hookups for more luxurious RVs. We ran out of propane and were easily accommodated with a fire ring and wood for a small fee. Well worth it! Mornings were in the 30's. It warms up quickly so layering worked for us. The camp host were very accommodating and friendly. I loved watching them round up their herd of horses that roam freely through the campground from time to time. At sunset we watched deer in the pasture grazing happily. Then watched them hop right over the fence one by one! How fun is that! Sunrise and sunsets there cast the most beautiful hues on the rock formations surrounding the area. While walking down to the natural hot springs we were delighted to see sheep who had given birth to a couple sets of black & white faced twins! Too cute for words... Bring a lunch as there are picnic tables next to the creek. Great after soaking in the three separate soaking areas. I was told you could arrange pack trips on horses and explore any of the back country areas. This is love to return and take advantage of! As amazing as it is on foot and in the car it Hass to be mine blowing on the back of a horse! I was also told that they do trail rides for those less experienced riders.

        Quiet, friendly, clean, well maintained

My uncle left his 5th wheel up here for the month for our family to use. My husband, our 4 year old, and myself stayed 2 nights as there wasn’t a lot to do. We got to use his RZR to explore trails but I think we would have been bored without the RZR. There aren’t any creeks or lakes near by. To get here you have to go down 7 miles of dirt road, make sure to follow the signs not your GPS. Most of the residents there stay for months at a time, it’s very quiet and green right now. Some of the spots are super close together. You get service almost everywhere but your camp site lol deer also roam the area and they came close up multiple times.

        Bad customer service

TERRIBLE GUEST SERVICES! Pools were great, a little dirty but the scenery was decent. On the other hand, management is less than accommodating and of no help at all!! Terribly rude as well. DO NOT EXPECT ANY FORM of great customer service in any way which so ever!! Not guest friendly whatsoever! We had a soak in the Blue Moon private pool and when it was time to leave we realized there was no door handle. We called the emergency phone number listed multiple times and no answer. We were stuck behind the gate with no door knob, and to top it off stuck in complete darkness. It was a rather terrible, little frightening experience to say the least. Not knowing what insects or creatures could bite us in the dark. After many attempts to were able to use our towel and a stick to get the lock button and cylinder open without a handle. The next morning we called to let them know what had happened and were told there was absolutely nothing to compensate for. I was not looking for a handout, but not even an apology was given for the trouble we went through that evening. Appalling customer service! Will not be going back and will not recommend Faywood to any others because of the terrible customer relations through management. Unfortunate, because Faywood is a nice, relaxing place. I cannot do business with anyone who does not care about the customers. No customers deserve this attitude and I personally cannot recommend this type of business to anyone else. Customers are the livelihood of thriving businesses. I wouldn’t want anyone else to get locked in after hours.
