LegendGot through the last wash (no concrete) and hoped for no rain overnight. Found one of a number of pullouts about 2 miles in... just before the 2nd gate/cattle guard. Nice little canyon that could use some water. Stone fire ring is it. LNT. It rained again, so the exit was again, dicey. Worth every lb of mud.

TravelerDriving cross country and looking for nice scenic places to stop for the night. This is a perfect little campground. Tons of trails right near by, pit toilets, and during business hours you can get water from the ranger station. There are fire pits and grills and it is so peaceful and quiet at night. You can see every star in the sky. Such a wonderful little gem. First come first served and free. There is a dip as you’re going in, bigger rigs might have a little trouble getting into the camping area on the gravel road, but super easy to find and stay. Will definitely be back(:

TravelerSawmill Road/481/Quaking Aspen Trail has lots of turnouts, many with fire rings. I passed a couple of occupied sites near the trailhead but was all alone as I drove farther. I picked a spot under ponderosa pines that was flat and open but hidden from the road. It was peaceful and beautiful. The monsoons had been heavy for days but roads were just fine and the campsites all looked well drained. Even had some spotty T-Mobile service!
