Buckley Park Campground in Stromsburg welcomes pets and provides free camping with electric hookups in a clean, well-maintained environment. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times while in the camping area. Both the main camping area and newly developed Lucy Holm section accommodate tent and RV campers with pets. The small black biting gnats can be problematic for both humans and animals during certain seasons. Prairie Oasis Campground & Cabins and Double Nickel Campground, located within 30 minutes of Stromsburg, offer pet-friendly cabin options alongside their tent and RV sites. Most campgrounds in the area maintain basic pet policies without breed restrictions but require owners to clean up after their animals and keep them from disturbing other campers.

The 1.1-mile loop trail at Recharge Lake Campground provides pet owners with a convenient walking path that skirts the north side of the lake with a trailhead directly off the tent camping area. The fenced dog run at Double Nickel Campground allows dogs to exercise off-leash in a controlled environment. Campers should be aware that trains pass near several campgrounds in the area, which may disturb noise-sensitive pets. Wildlife sounds, including coyote chattering, can be heard from some camping areas during evening hours. Most campgrounds enforce the standard four-night maximum stay policy, which applies to campers with pets as well. Despite the proximity to Interstate 80, several campgrounds are tucked back away from the roads, providing quieter environments for pets and their owners.

      Grand Island KOA

      Favorite KOA

This campground is set among the corn fields. The staff was super! The pool is cool and tucked away in the back. The store sold single local beers and was open late. They were slinging hot pizza. We stayed in an air conditioned camping cabin. Super close to the pool and bathrooms! 2 of the nicest fenced dog parks of any KOA. I would definitely stay there again if driving through.

      Camp A Way Campground

      Nice park

Stayed here for a week over 4th of July, 2020 amid COVID19 restrictions. Lots of shade, though some sites are full sun. Great dog park: large, secure and shaded. Play ground, basketball, pool, family activities. Very clean restrooms. Good camp store with decent prices. Easy access to Omaha.

      Camp A Way Campground

      Great Location... Very Crowded!

This was a great location to explore different areas but it is a very crowded location. Some people like that and visiting with everyone.  That is not for me.  The campground is well maintained, the staff is friendly and our dogs enjoyed the dog park on the property.

      Double Nickel Campground

Very nice grounds and great amenities

Popped in for a quick one night stay on our way west. Chose this place based on reviews on The Dyrt. It is mid week in October but it's so quiet, which we really like. Great pull through spaces with full hook ups and fantastic WiFi which allowed me to get some much needed work in. When I told the owner we had two dogs he put us directly across from the dog park which our pups really liked. Super cute touches around the place including bench swings at all the sites. Looks like the place could be great for families in the summer.

It is directly adjacent to the highway so there is some noise but it's not too bad. We actually felt it was quiet and relaxing.

      Nice Campground

Nice level spots. No sewer at some of the spots. Two dog parks. Nice playground. Nice clean restrooms and showers. Very friendly staff. A little on the expensive side at $88 with tax for a no sewer spot.

      Camp A Way Campground

      Awesome

The park is well kept, the sites have plenty of space to them so you don’t feel like you’re on top of someone else’s camper. There’s playgrounds and a pool, a dog park, basketball court and disc golf. The nicest park we’ve stayed at for sure.
