Campers find this small campground positioned next to the historic Buffalo Bill Ranch, offering a mix of electric hookups and basic tent sites along the North Platte River. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission manages 20 sites that range from $10 for primitive camping to $35 for full hookups, with an additional $8 fee for out-of-state visitors.
Water access creates some confusion among visitors, as only sites 6 and 20 have water spigots at the back of each site, plus one additional spigot at the tent camping area. Sarah R. found it "out of the way and secluded" with good fishing access right from her riverside spot. The restroom facilities are vault toilets without shower access, and sites accommodate big rigs with 30 and 50-amp electrical service.
Most campers report quiet conditions due to low occupancy rates, though the proximity between sites becomes less of an issue when the campground isn't full. Cell coverage varies by carrier, with Verizon providing 5G service while T-Mobile offers limited connectivity. The campground serves as a base for exploring the Buffalo Bill Ranch Historic Site and watching seasonal crane migrations.
Campers wanting additional amenities can check A-1 Sunset Mobile & RV Park for full-service RV accommodations.
