Close to lake, good shade

There’s 2 or so spots, a tree-shaded loop that you could probably RV/tent camp in, and then a spot close to the boat ramp. We didn’t see any ticks and not many mosquitos/biting flies either. Not far off the highway but the noise isn’t terrible from inside the car.

Good pull off

Pretty views of the prairie in the morning. Good free quick pull off to sleep but not much for anything else. Watch for mud if it’s been raining.

Very nice spot except the ticks were out of control!

We went with our pick up and a pull behind camper. Stayed there about 5 days, it was free. It's not a huge area but it's big enough. We managed to get a spot by the trees, which was nice for the shade but awful for the ticks! I would give 5 stars if the ticks wouldn't have been so extreme. It was pretty quiet, there were people fishing nearly every day, so it wasn't extremely private or secluded. Overall it was a really nice spot, and I would definitely stay again.
