Pleasant Site in Bozeman

This site is in the fairgrounds in Bozeman. You can stay a max of ten days out of 30, and they have power but no water or sewage hookups. They do have a water fill station for a fee. Some sites are gravel, some asphalt, all very level. You get the equivalent of two parking spaces.

It’s a quiet…

Perfect dispersed camping

Perfect dispersed camping. Note it is a windy dirt road, so a pickup or camper van can make it, but don't try a Class A or Class C RV. Our 20 footer made it fine. Also wouldn't want to drive it if rain forecasted as I bet the dirt turns to impassible mud real fast.

The spots themselves are…

Three forks KOA

Not sure if this is the same campgrounds as listed Nice place, good shade clean. New KOA owner here very friendly and all around awesome. Though spot close quarters tight turns. I think rigs or trailer bigger then 24ft will have a hard time maneuvering in here, but they do have good spots too. Ours…

Free camp spot near Gardiner

Very close to the north entrance to Yellowstone. These spots were as described here. We saw the pretty little overlook spot, but it was too small & windy for us. We went further down the road (it turns more west) & saw the graffiti wall & went past that to a great secluded spot. It does…

Gorgeous and private

All the sites are fairly private, nestled in the mountains among the trees and alongside a stream. We visited mid May 2021, it snowed overnight so it was a bit freezing, but otherwise such a beautiful stay.

Great Spot close to northern entrance of Yellowstone.

We arrived at 5-6 and only came across two available spots on the entire road. Each campsite is fully dispersed and a large distance between each other. Lots of animals in area so keep that bear spray. Great view of mountains.

I gave a four star because when first entering there is a giant stone…

Missouri headwaters

Pretty nice place. Campsites barely fit a tent but some sites for campers. Lots of hiking trails and super clean bathrooms. $24 for out of staters for the night

Lakeside and very relaxing

I’ve camped here many times for most of my life and it’s always been the same. Early season you’d be surprised at how not busy it is. With the Madison river spots filling up fast Ennis lake usually has spots to offer. It is close to some residents but this isn’t a lake in the mountains. Bathrooms…

A little flat but pretty nonetheless

I took my dogs here midwinter. It was cold (obviously) but very pretty next to the water. The mountains reflected the sunlight perfectly and it all was surreal at times. Nice for a little getaway. Don't expect quiet, that river is raging!

Perfect spot if you don’t want to pay to stay in Yellowstone

15 minutes from the Mammoth Hotsprings visitor center. Easy to access, no crazy potholes or anything, just a dirt road. There’s a couple cabins up that road too so I assume whomever owns them keeps the road well maintained. The first spot you come to has an incredible view which is where we stayed,…

Awesome Spot!

There are a few spots but the overlook the GPS Coordinates take you to is amazing! Perfect for a van camper or for a small bumper pull trailer - tent camping, too. The views for the sunrise and sunset are absolutely incredible! Some things to note is that it is very remote but you do have cell…

Great location on creek, some sites better than others, be bear aware!

Drove through this campground back in June, but ultimately decided not to stay there because most of the sites were full and the few available were quite small and had very little privacy.

That said, other sites sat further back from the little dirt road that winds through the campground, are…

  • Spire Rock, the campground's namesake.
  • The little road that does a loop through the campground. Really beautiful area, but be ready for weather.

Good option if you need to be near north entrance to Yellowstone

Very much middle of nowhere feeling. Go up travertine and the. Take FS1701 road west for a mile or so. You’ll see a few spots along the way but I liked the ones I found farther west. I was solo and it was a little weird as it felt totally isolated. No tables or toilets but there are a number of…

It was as described

I would definitely come here again. 15 min to Yellowstone NP entrance. Nice dark quiet spots. ZERO amenities for ZERO dollars. We were driving a minivan and tent camping. The dirt roads were easily passable. A small RV would be able to find a spot here. It’s bear country and you’re on your OWN. You…
