Horse Prairie Campground

Horse Prairie Campground does not have cabins available for rent. Instead, each campsite features a three-sided shelter with a picnic table underneath, providing some protection from the elements, which can be particularly helpful as the area is known to be windy at times. These shelters serve as a nice alternative to traditional cabins while still offering some covered space.

Horse Prairie Campground is located near Dillon, Montana on the shores of Clark Reservoir. It's a small USFS (U.S. Forest Service) campground that offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The campground is situated far enough from Interstate 15 to provide a peaceful experience without highway noise. The location features a sandy beach area with easy access to the reservoir.

Horse Prairie Campground offers various recreational activities centered around its lakeside location. Visitors can enjoy swimming and water activities at the sandy beach area with easy access to Clark Reservoir. The campground is ideal for fishing, boating, and paddling when the water is calm, particularly in the mornings when the reservoir can be glassy. Hiking opportunities are available in the surrounding area, and the beautiful mountain views make photography and wildlife watching popular activities. Campfires are possible in the provided fire rings, though they may be challenging during windy conditions.
