Horse Prairie Campground

Managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, Horse Prairie Campground sits on the shores of Clark Canyon Reservoir with direct lake access for both drive-in and boat-in campers. The campground features several sites with three-sided shelters housing picnic tables and fire rings, though reviewers note the sites are not level. A sandy beach provides easy water access for paddling and other lake activities.

Gravel roads lead to the campground and remain well-maintained according to recent visitors. Vault toilets serve the area, while the water spigot may not be operational during shoulder seasons. Wind conditions can be significant, sometimes preventing campfires despite the multi-level fire pits. Cell service works reliably for those needing connectivity. Nearby Clark Canyon Recreation Area offers an alternative for campers preferring different amenities.

Many campers appreciated the scenic lakeside location with covered picnic areas and quiet atmosphere away from highway noise. Wind conditions and unlevel sites were occasional concerns mentioned by visitors.

Beautiful location !

Has several camp spots. All have covered picnic areas and fire rings. Vault toilets. They have a water spicket but it was not on when we were here the first part of May. Amazing view and the lake and mountains. Can walk down to the lake quickly. Roads are gravel and very well maintained. Will definitely be back!

Lakeside campground

Awesome view and far enough from I-15 so you have no noise. Too windy for a fire but the fire pit is nice with two levels. The only water source did not look operational. Nice sandy beach. Sites are not level. 6" off Travelfi worked fine One night 2 different days

Perfectly isolated

Stopped here on the way to the Grand Tetons. This is a small first come first served USFS campground situated over a Sandy beach on the Clark Reservoir near Dillon Mt. Each campsite offers a 3 sided shelter with a picnic table. The area can be very windy. In the morning the reservoir was glassy and perfect for paddle boarding. I loved it!
