Clark Canyon Reservoir sits along the Montana-Idaho corridor south of Dillon, managed as a Bureau of Reclamation recreation area with multiple free camping zones around its shoreline. The Beaverhead River Campground on the north end is one of several distinct sites ringing the lake, each with compost toilets and fire rings. Sites are level, accommodate large RVs, and have been noted as clean. No fee is charged. Anglers and RV travelers camping near Dillon will find this a practical base given the reservoir's water access and no-cost overnight options.
