Description
Rolling foothills terrain on the south edge of Gallatin National Forest opens up to sweeping views of the Crazy Mountains from two informal sites along Forest Service Road 421, about three miles in from the pavement. The first is a big open pullout in full sun; continue a short way down the road for a second site tucked beside a small creek with tree cover. The gravel road is steep with a notable dip at a cattle guard — passable for high-clearance 2WD rigs in dry conditions but not advisable in winter, and navigation apps may route to a private ranch entrance rather than the correct NF access point.
