Dead Dog South Cutoff Dispersed — Gallatin NF

A forested plateau in Gallatin National Forest sits just outside the west entrance corridor to Yellowstone, reached by a rough two-track that climbs a short rocky hill — high clearance is the deciding factor for whether you make it to the upper site. The main pullout along the road offers a level fire-ring spot for one or two vehicles; those with 4WD can push up to a more sheltered tier above. The road sees almost no through traffic, and the proximity to the park boundary makes it a quiet base for Yellowstone day trips.
