Right off I-15 near Dillon, Barretts Station Park Campground functions as both a quick overnight stop for highway travelers and a base for anglers and rafters working the Beaverhead River. Drive-in access is straightforward, and RVs up to 50 feet can pull in without issue. The campground has vault toilets, water pumps, and picnic tables, though at least one reviewer noted that the pump nearest the parking lot was out of service, with a working alternative in the day use area.
Layout matters here. The north side of the campground sits closer to the amenities but has less shade, while the south side has cottonwood trees that provide cover during warmer months. Two spots toward the back offer more seclusion than the rest. The area draws a steady mix of highway travelers using the facilities and river users, since the site doubles as a boat take-out. As William B. notes, it's "busy for rafters/fishing as a boat take out."
Cell service is reliable, and the nearby railroad does send occasional trains through, though reviewers generally found nighttime noise from I-15 less disruptive than expected. Rattlesnake Rock, a Native American site with sport and trad climbing routes, rises to the east above the river. Clark Canyon Reservoir is also in the area for boating and cliff diving when water levels are sufficient.
Campers wanting full hookups or a more developed setup can look at Countryside RV Park a few miles up the road, or browse places to camp near Dillon for additional options in the region.
