Fishing enthusiasts and families will find Lake Lincoln State Park Campground offers direct access to a 550-acre lake surrounded by pine forest. The campground operates year-round with 64 sites accommodating RVs up to 60 feet, plus electric, water, and sewer hookups. Sites feature concrete pads, picnic tables, and grills, though fire rings and lantern posts are not provided at all locations.
Campers consistently note the varied site quality throughout the campground. Lakefront sites like 64 provide direct water views, while interior sites such as 36 and 37 offer heavy shade from mature pines with partial lake glimpses. Layla D. appreciated how "we felt like we were nestled snuggly into the pines and enjoyed a peekaboo view of the lake." However, sites in some loops sit close together with limited privacy, and a few campers mention street lighting that affects nighttime stargazing.
The lake serves as the main attraction for fishing, kayaking, and swimming when the beach area is open. Spring and fall produce the best fishing results according to multiple visitors, though William H. notes the presence of "large, Alligators" in the water. Hiking trails wind through the forested areas, and a playground provides entertainment for children. The campground maintains clean bathhouses with showers, though some show their age with cobwebs in corners.
Reservations are available online, and the park stays busy during holiday weekends. Sites closer to the water fill up first, so advance booking helps secure preferred locations. The facility sits about seven miles from Wesson for supplies and services.
