Managed by the USDA Forest Service, Walker Area sits on Leech Lake in northern Minnesota and draws a crowd that skews heavily toward anglers. Sites 11 through 19 have some form of waterfront access, and site 11 connects via a path to a sandy beach with a solid sand bottom. Sites are laid out well but run close together, and most have adequate shade. The campground provides drinking water, toilets, a dump station, and trash service, with cell service on-site. Note that pets are not permitted. Campers exploring places to camp near Walker will find Stony Point just 0.1 miles west. Reserve a waterfront site early if lake access matters to your trip.
