Trails RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Grassy sites, full hookups, and direct access to the Heartland and Paul Bunyan Bike Trails define the experience at Trails RV Park in Walker, Minnesota. The park runs from May through early October and accommodates RVs up to 130 feet with electric, water, and sewer hookups at each site. Reviewers consistently note that the sites are large and level, and that the grounds are well-maintained. Several campers have returned for multiple years, which says something about the consistency here.

The campground is not on Leach Lake, and multiple reviewers flag this clearly. A boat launch with two ramps sits about a mile away. The bike trail, however, runs directly through the property, and the town of Walker is roughly four miles by trail. Nearby options like Shores of Leech Lake Campground give lake-adjacent alternatives for those who want water access closer to their site.

Amenities include a swimming pool, laundry facilities, a camp store, showers, and a game barn. Families with kids show up repeatedly in reviews, drawn by the playground and pool. The park skews heavily toward seasonal residents, with only around 20 or so transient sites available for short stays. "Bathroom and showers are very nice and clean," notes Stacy B., who has stayed four consecutive years. Given the limited number of regular-use sites, booking ahead is strongly advised, especially in summer.

Great Rv park

We have stayed at Trails RV park for the past 4 years. We love it. Great for kids, very nice playground and great pool. Bathroom and showers are very nice and clean. This is mostly a seasonal site campground with 20 or so regular use sites. Camp store very nice and receptionist is very nice.

Very nice RV park

I stayed here for 2 nights. I was with my parents who had an RV but I just stayed in a tent in the back of their spot. It was a very clean park. You can tell they take care of it. Showers were nice. Pool was warm. Everyone at the park seemed nice. It's not on the lake but there is a boat landing with 2 ramps about a mile away. It's right on a major bike trail.

Nice campground near two great bike paths

This campground is very nice. The sites are large and level. It is accessible to the Heartland and Paul Bunyan Bike Trails. Walker is a cute little town - only 4 miles away by bike on the trails. The campground has a nice swimming pol and laundry facilities. Very peaceful.

Go anywhere else.

Couldn’t even stay. Drove an extra 90 minutes just to get away. It’s an old nasty fairgrounds with a few permanent residents.

One of our favorites

Trails RV is one of our favorite campgrounds. Full hookups, grassy sites, game barn, and the kids love the pool. The park is on the bike trail and it is a perfect ride into town with kids. Just realize that the campground IS NOT on Leach Lake but the boat launch is very close.
