We stayed for the weekend at Fox Lake and had a great time. This is a very family friendly campground with a lot of entertainment options. The volleyball and basketball courts are nice and well maintained. The park was fun for the kids and the beach was very nice! The seasonal campers are adjacent to the beach and are friendly for the most part. The resort has numerous watercraft to use for free, you just need to check them out at the office. The office has a nice little sitting area along with basic supplies and gift items available for sale. You can also have an ice cream treat! The game room is right next to the office and was a nice option for our kids to enjoy. Overall, this campground is a clean and family friendly spot that is close to Bemidji and a perfect destination for a weekend trip, rain or shine!
Stayed just one night here on our way through. Site was a little tight but still nice for our 30’ travel trailer. Bathrooms and showers were nice. Our kids had a blast biking the trails. Didn’t get a chance to do much else but hope to come back with more time to enjoy getting out on the lakes for fishing and the swimming beach. The campground was full but it was still private enough to feel secluded. Bugs weren’t bad at all for the beginning of July. Star gazing at night from our site was beautiful! Hope to be back soon.
Very well maintained campground, close to Ely. Fun beach and play area for the kids. The sites are clean and secluded with privacy all around. Kawishiwi Falls Trail is nearby and a short rewarding hike. My family loved this campground, we will definitely go back.
Bring bug spray! LL rec area is a large campground best suited for fishing trips. I missed that there is no swimming available and my kids weren’t happy with me. This is on a river and is not suitable for swimming. There is a nice large play area for the kids and the roads around the campground are good for biking. We rained out one day so drove to Grand Rapids for a movie and stopped at Tioga Beach in Cohasset(well worth the trip) on the way back. This is very well maintained but there is very little to do outside of the campground without traveling 45 minutes in either direction.
Bring certified wood along as you don’t want to buy it from the local outfitter/guide service (trust me).
Nice, well kept campground. This is in a fairly busy part of town with lots of traffic and hustle/bustle. If you’re looking for privacy, this would not be a great choice. Otherwise, there is a nice park for the family and a really neat outdoor swimming pool. The campground is located on the “point” near Lake of The Woods, the walleye capital of the world! Walleye fishing doesn’t get any better and you don’t need to go far from the dock to hit the bite. Warroad is a great town with many things to offer. The bike trails are fun and well maintained to loop around town. Worth the trip if you don’t mind city campgrounds.
Great campground for a quiet weekend trip. We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. The majority of the sites are seasonal but there are a handful of nightly sites and a few tent sites. The host was very helpful and friendly and does a great job maintaining the grounds. The bathroom and shower facilities are top notch! There is a small swimming beach and nice fishing pier. The lake itself is nice sized and holds pike, panfish and walleyes. There is a large picnic shelter and a small playground for kids. The city of Fosston is a short drive for anything you might need! Fosston is a small but thriving community with nice shops, good eats and a neat movie theater.
A side note: I highly recommend this park in the Fall when the leaves are turning. Just the short drive through the woods from the highway is worth the trip!
