Baker Lake Rustic Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Darkness envelops campers at this dispersed campground where sites spread far apart across the forest floor. Baker Lake Rustic Campground operates under US Forest Service management within Superior National Forest, offering drive-in access to spacious individual sites. A restroom facility exists on-site, though maintenance appears inconsistent based on visitor reports. Firewood availability tends to be good, which proves helpful during cold nights when temperatures can drop significantly. The remote setting means limited lighting and substantial distance between camping spots. Campers seeking more developed facilities might consider Crescent Lake Campground located 2.1 miles east.

Living on the edge of the BWCAW at its finest

I stopped by to check this site out and was simply whelmed. each site was fairly private and easy to access but if you have a bigger tent like me only sites 3 and 5 will really work. 1, 2, and 4 had some large rocks and uneven terrain. A standard 2-5 person tent should fit right in but that’s not what I have this trip.

Plus: solar powered potable water pump. I topped off my two 5L bottles and went to check out other sites. If push had come to shove I would have come back but it’s not good for those with solar needs and my Starlink wouldn’t get service with the state of the canopy. Beautiful trees, though. ❤️‍🔥

So quiet

This place was pretty scary to camp at. T=Its just you at night and the darkness. You are in a pretty big site and campsites are spread out pretty far apart. The site did have a restroom but wasn't maintained. There was a lot of firewood an dat night the temperature got really cold.
