White River RV Park & Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at White River RV Park & Campground in Montague, Michigan, and given that groups regularly book multiple sites together months in advance, planning ahead is worthwhile. The campground runs from May 1 through October 15 and accommodates RVs up to 65 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. Road access carries a rough-access warning, so tow vehicles and low-clearance rigs should factor that in before arrival.

The White River runs through the property, giving campers direct access to canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. A canoe landing sits on-site, and a nearby outfitter roughly a mile upstream provides rentals for those without their own boats. A sandy creek also winds through the grounds and works well for wading. On-site amenities include a heated pool, basketball court, horseshoe pits, playground, and walking trails, along with showers, WiFi, and a dump station.

Cleanliness is a consistent theme across reviews. Dave P. notes that "cleaning people are seen making the rounds of each and every restroom and shower house TWICE daily." That said, a few reviewers mention dusty, dirt-road conditions and sites that sit close together with limited separation, so campers expecting privacy may want to ask about site spacing when booking. Noise regulation has come up as inconsistent during busy holiday weekends.

Nearby alternatives worth considering include Sand Road Primitive Rustic Camping and Diamond Point Campground. White River RV Park works best for families, paddlers, and groups who prioritize maintained facilities and direct river access over seclusion.

A camp that does everything right!

There’s a great variety of campsites available with a north woods bent!Management does a fine job of cleanliness, neatness and extreme attention to detail. Two facts summarize our satisfaction with this operation: cleaning people are seen making the rounds of each and every restroom and shower house TWICE daily. The management keeps a dedicated maintenance man available and on 24 hour call! He will aid and assist everything from lock outs to rookie campers doing their first sanitation drain, to motor vehicle issues. We are on our second annual visit.

Dirty and loud

My family and I stayed over Labor Day weekend. The sites were so dirty and dusty as everything is dirt including the roads. It is also very loud and was not regulated. The camp store was very clean and well stocked. The bathrooms were okay, not very clean but not awful. All in all, we will not be returning.

Clean and quiet

Late summer visit. The campground is very clean and quiet. Also very large, so lots of room to walk or ride bikes. Located next to the White River for canoeing fun too.

Upscale All-Family Fun- CLEAN as can be!

Ok... we camp in “backwoods” to all woods...

But, I must say that this place is the most UPSCALE campground I have ever experienced! We are planning our next family reunion to be here!!

Yes, their prices are a bit higher (ranging from $33-37 a night); however, the amenities make up for that 10 fold!!

Amenities include basketball court, playground, horseshoe pits, walking trails, heated pool, etc.

Plus, you can “float” in tubes, kayaks, or canoes (your own or rented) from a launch site two miles away!

We loved just hanging out in the local creek with friends!

We only spent one night there this year, but after meeting people there who were returning for multiple years with extended family, we hope to get our family to “reunion” there in 2021!

(FYI: this campground is the CLEANEST one I have EVER seen. We went into what appears to be put toilets, but they were flush toilets with TILE floors!! They have Multiple “dog poo” bag stations with bags and disposal sites... Bath houses were the best I have ever seen!!!

Quiet Friendly Campground

We found this campground online looking for a place to hold our annual family camp out.  Staff was very helpful in making reservations and holding sites for our group.  We called in March for the 3rd weekend in July and were able to get all the sites we needed together along with cabins for those without access to campers.  Nice large level sites very helpful staff.  Very pleasant long weekend.  Reasonable checkout and check in times.  In at 3 PM  out by 1 PM.

Great Campground along the River!

We loved this campground! We brought our kayaks and just brought one vehicle up the river to the start point to put in and got out right at the campground. Clean facilities and friendly staff! We would for sure go back!

Better than average in a state full of campgrounds.

This one is worth a visit. beautiful wooded sites, sandy creek runs through for wading and playing. The White River runs through the campground. Canoe landing at campground. BYOBoat or rent from Happy Mohawk, about a mile down the road (a nice hour or so float downstream from HM to WRCG landing). Fishing's good, too. Sweet pool, good store, Great facilities, laundry, and all that Western Michigan has to offer. You won't be sorry.
