Great camping!

Beautiful place. Lucky lake is awesome with a sandbar that leads to a platform to jump off of. It was so beautiful! Kids had a blast! We even saw a bald eagle. Owners kinda grumpy to deal with on the phone but other than that, I would recommend! Just know that bathrooms are portable johns and showers are outdoor ones.

Beautiful Sites

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We would come back, but will likely check other campgrounds in the area first.

Pro's:

  • The campsites are big! Our site was on the lake and we were able to position the camper to face the lake. Plenty of space to enjoy without feeling crowded.

  • Catch& release fishing(no license required)

  • Hottest camp shower I've ever had!

  • It is a beautiful setting

Con's:

  • Lawn mowing at about 8am, twice during our stay

  • The "bathhouse" is not fully enclosed. The showers are outdoor showers and the only thing between you and all of your camp friends are 2 shower curtains, with a sign to put the chair in front of the curtain if there is high wind

Relaxed

If you avoid the electric forest crowd there are plenty of available spots. We were able to camp right on the lake with room between neighbors for privacy. My favorite feature is a wooden playground with equipment large enough for adults. At night, trails and playground are illuminated with string lights. Really sets the atmosphere. Campground owners are very helpful and accommodating!

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, running water available, hot showers, free charging outlets, supplies for purchase provided by owners, great swimming, lots of areas with shade for those in tents.

Cons: close to the highway so it can be noisy at night, port-a-potties can be questionable

My favorite place close to home

I love coming here a few times a year, it’s close to the highway but stay on the opposite side of the lake and it’s hardly noticeable. Excellent stop for a week or just for a night. Large playground for kids and excellent catch and release fishing.

Perfect in every way

Even though its next to the highway, you'll never notice! The lake has unbeatable fishing (though you do have to toss them back), and even the most shy people will end up becoming friends with those around them
