Best Cabin Camping near Gladstone, MI

Stayed a night in a deluxe cabin in the winter. Warm and small, perfect for a night. Great ski hill view — right next door for mountain access. Bonus: hot tub!

Great campground with a variety of options to stay. Full hook up, luxury cabins, rustic cabins, electric sites, walk in tent sites. Location is perfect. Only wish would be that they add more bathrooms/shower rooms. Can be long waits in the morning/evenings.

Stayed here for a weekend away and to visit family. Was pleasantly surprised on how friendly and helpful registration desk personnel were, and how well laid out the campground was. We stayed in a basic cabin - and were astounded at how clean they were and how good they smelled - like fresh cut wood! The bathrooms were the same, and the button lock entry to cabin, bathroom and shower room is an excellent touch. The view from the main office building is great, with a wonderful view of the river off of the back deck. The camp store has a nice selection of wine and the usual necessary items campers need. They also have a hot tub and pool, and altho we didn't get to use it on this trip we certainly will on the next visit!

Large sites overall. Very clean bathroom. Nice pool/hot tub and a small bar (wine/beer) at the front reception area, with public fire pit.

This was probably one of my favorite spots to camp so far, and we do a lot of family camping!! Quiet, serene, close to the lake. The night sky viewing was AMAZING here. Because of its location, there is very little light pollution which makes for wonderful star gazing. We stayed in a camping cabin this trip as that was the only spot available. A short hike from the campground takes you straight to a great beach on Lake Michigan. I will say that the mosquitos are fierce, so make sure that you bring your bug spray! Also a short drive to some great Door County spots. We love Door County and look forward to camping here again!

Fantastic. Large spots. Full hookups. Amazing hiking and mountain biking and easy access to all Marquette has to offer. Cool river access. Pool is good enough, nice hot tub, putt putt, excellent bar, camp store.

Very nice - we were in site 31. Plenty of space and we did not feel like we were too close to others. They had lots of hiking trails near and a bar and pizza place. Nice store, nice staff, pool/ hot tub, and right on the river. You are also able to take a nearby ski lift up the mountain for some great views!

Honestly, the campground is not the best. Most sites too open.

We did enjoy the pool and hot tub... plus the walk up bar with pizza. They also have a deck and patio to hang out at. There is an area down by the creek with chairs.

The best part was the 3/4 mile ish trail that goes up to the Marquette Mountain. We walked up at night (bring flashlights!!!) and the view was breathtaking! We overlooked all of Marquette and the stars were incredible!!

This campground is only a few years old and therefore not a lot of shady RV spots. But it is very well equipped. Wifi is great, cell service strong, nice bathhouses with laundry, an amazing store with pizza and bar/alcohol, a pool and hot tub (not exactly warm), and easy in/out. Outdoor seating by a stream and fire. There are a few sites that don’t look super level but ours is perfect for our fifth wheel. Trash dumpsters at front of site and there’s even a dump clean out there. The only negative is the septic drain slightly higher than normal. You may need something rigid to allow proper fall. It’s a great campsite!

Great cabin. I would highly encourage anyone who likes the outdoors to go there. I'm reluctant to post a good review because I don't want everyone booking up all the dates, but like any other government program, if you don't show a need they won't give funding to build more cabins like this.

The cabin is great for a family. We brought our kids and they loved it. Having no electricity was great and no running water added to the "camping" experience. The outhouse was only about 25 yards from the cabin and there was a wood shed in back too so you don't have to worry about that, which is nice. We had the lake to ourselves and couldn't see or hear any other people. Why you'd chose a campground instead of a place like this is beyond me. The water was about 75 yards from the cabin with the fire pit that way as well. The lake had some muck the first few feet but was sandy after that.

Inside the cabin were two tables and eight chairs. There was a small counter top as well. The wood stove was free standing so be careful about burns if you use it. The storage room was also nice to double as a changing room. There was plenty of space in the bunk room, enough beds for 8. The cabin is usually pretty dark, even in the middle of the day so make sure you bring lights and lanterns. There are hooks hanging from the ceiling in 4 or 5 spots throughout the cabin for light.

The bugs weren't bad but the horseflies and mosquitoes could make a showing. You're not far from Munising and we took trips up that way. The Camel Riders restaurant is only 2 minutes down the road and is decent, but small. They have a couple televisions for the kids. The prices are what you'd expect from a resort restaurant and the food does take a while, but it's pretty good.

If you're coming from the south I would recommend stopping at Van Cleve Park in Gladstone on your way up. The beach is really nice and they have a big playground. Worth the stop.

My family and I have been coming here for years!!!!! The campground is big and beautiful! Every campsite has a picnic table and fire pit; the Yurts and cabins have chairs. The Yurts, cabins, and bathrooms are clean! The staff is friendly! It is pet friendly. It is located near the water and has many trails to hike! Love this place, especially in October with the leaves changing and the festivals around town!!!!!

great for casual camping, they also offer cabins. the island has many places to explore and a new lavender farm to check out.

Very nice private campground that offers rustic, electric, and cabins. We stayed in a 30 amp electric site. The 30 amp sites are a bit tight but backed up to the woods, so privacy wasn't an issue. Very friendly owners! Can't wait to go back

Super close to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! This KOA is pretty nice. Has a dog run, facilities including showers/bathrooms/laundry, along with a general store! Decent lot sizes for tents and cabins, we were there in the fall so not as packed in, but would imagine it would be tight during peak season.

This campground is in town with the bike trails to one side and Marquette mountain ski hill. Wonderful fishing salmon and brook trout galore. It has a small put put golf, pool, camp store and large clean bathrooms and showers. WiFi! If you are in to biking amazing trails this stop is for you. The cabins are very clean and super nice.

Great cabin in the woods. 3.1 mile walk in. With porch and fire pit plus much more. Pit toilet with a roof and 4 walls. sleeps 8 with 4 bunks. The best part is having the beach so close you can hear the waves at night as you sleep. Water is very close as well. We had a RV water filter with a 5gal water storage and that last us the whole 3 day weekend
