Wagner Lake (MI) — Huron Manistee National Forests

Fishing and kayaking drive most visits to Wagner Lake, a forested US Forest Service campground set within Huron National Forest near Mio, Michigan. The lake has small beach areas where kids can wade, though it functions primarily as a fishing and paddling destination. Sites are hilly and uneven, and the access road runs rough, so RV drivers should note the terrain despite the 70-foot length limit. Water hookups are available, vault toilets are on-site, and fees run $15 per night. Anglers and paddlers will get the most out of this campground, particularly those who can secure a lakefront site with direct water access.

A few good sites

So, this is a great little lake. There are a few sites that are amazing if you can snag them up first. However, it is pretty hilly and uneven. We had IMO the best site when we went. Water view and a few short steps down to it. I would say this is mostly a fishing and kayaking lake. There are a few very little beach areas where kids can splash and play. Just a nice rustic campground. Vault toilets that are pretty decent.
