Paddlers and anglers have direct lake access at this four-site state forest campground, reached by roughly 15 miles of dirt road south of H-58. Sites are first-come, first-served with self-registration and a drop box for fees. The hand pump has been unreliable across multiple visits, so arriving with a full water supply is strongly advised. Mosquitoes are notably heavy. Pack accordingly, especially in early summer. Nearby, Cusino Lake State Forest Campground was cited as an alternate water source when the pump was out of service.
