Rustic FC/FS Campground in Pictured Rocks!
This campground is about a 15 drive on a dirt road south of H-58 that runs along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There’s only 4 sites, 1 vault toilet, and the water pump could not be used at the time we stayed(gave directions for nearby Cusino Lake Campground) Its first come, first serve with self-registration - only one other site was occupied when we stayed. We were going to stay at North or South Gemini Lake, which has 8 sites each, but North was busy and South only had 2 sites on the lake (occupied) and the rest of the sites were overgrown. Sites at Canoe Lake were pretty open, but there’s a few trees to make it feel dispersed. Canoe Lake was still secluded and had a beautiful lake view - if you don’t mind the drive or backwoods camping, this is perfect since many of the Pictured Rocks campgrounds now require reservations! I will say, this site had the most mosquitos we’ve encountered at any campground in the UP....be more prepared than us! Attached are some pictures from Miners Castle/Pictured Rocks also.
