Cabela’s Dundee

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Free overnight parking at the Cabela's in Dundee draws RV travelers and road-trippers moving through southeastern Michigan, with no reservation required and no fee. The dedicated RV lot sits behind the store, separated from truck traffic, and accommodates rigs up to 50 feet. It's a functional stopover. Bathrooms are accessible inside the store, and a sanitation dump station is on-site, though at least one reviewer noted the sani-dump appeared closed during their visit, so it's worth confirming availability before relying on it.

The lot is level and well-signed, with good lighting that makes arriving after dark manageable. Highway noise carries into the area, an audible trade-off that comes with the convenient access off the interstate. A walking path around a nearby pond gives dogs and their owners a place to stretch before or after a long drive. Carol W. describes the site as "quiet, level with area to walk your four legged camper." Cell service is available, and alcohol is permitted on-site.

The Cabela's store itself is a draw for many who stop here, stocking an extensive range of outdoor and fishing gear along with a cafeteria. Several restaurants are also within walking distance. Campers planning longer stays in the region can explore River Raisin Canoe Livery & Campground or browse campgrounds around Dundee for more traditional camping options. For a no-cost overnight in transit, this lot gets the job done.

Great free overnight spot

Great spot to stop overnight on a long drive through Michigan. Large lot for RVs with good signage. We arrived in the dark but could easily find where to park. Nice walking path along a pond is a great way to start a day especially with pups. Conveniently located by the highway. The highway noise is audible but is an acceptable trade off.

Great Place for a Quick Overnight

We needed a place to stay overnight on our way up to the Upper Peninsula after a Michigan Football game.  Cabela's has a large parking lot behind the store with a pond and walking trail.  Several campers here and also truckers staying overnight.  No bathrooms, but several places close by you can stop in.

First time boondocking

Excellent place to stay for boondocking. We are traveling in our Jeep and stopped here for the night. Spent a little too much money inside but they let us stay for free.

Boondocking at Cabela’s

Large parking lot for RVs(separate from trucks). Quiet, level with area to walk your four legged camper. We stayed for two nights. The store is huge and there are several restaurants within walking distance (plus Cabela’s has a nice cafeteria!) We always shop at the business that allows Boondocking and while urban camping is not our preference, Cabela’s offers a nice place to take a break when traveling from one destination to another!

There is a separate area with a sanidump. Bathrooms are inside the store.

The store itself is an experience! They have an extensive selection of camping, fishing and outdoor items.
