Amazing view & trails!

Highly recommend Wilderness State Park Campground on the north western point of lower Michigan! It’s amazing to see the sunset and the sunrise from the same spot and the Mackinaw Bridge! there’s a small dog Beech because of the plover population, but it’s sufficient. trails are amazing. Make sure to have lots of bug spray. Recommend stain closer to the beach rather than the pines. The pines tend to have more mosquitoes in my opinion.

Great for kids

This is a great campground. There are a lot of things for kids to do including a swimming pond, playground, basketball, volleyball, and a catch and release fish pond. There are a couple pull through sites but most are back in and easily fit just about any rig. There are two bath houses and a dump station but no sewer. Awesome staff! Cabelas’s right down the street.

We love camping here every year. They have a beautiful beach and camp sites right on the water. The campground is also close to a lot of restaurants and shopping.

Love the lake

I’m hoping we get back this year!! Owners seemed great, campground well maintained, nice large clean lake for swimming and another area for fishing right from our site. One of my favorites because of lake view and swimming lake!

Great campground

New owners in 2019 were very nice and helpful. There is a camp store that has literally everything you can think of needing for camping, and more plus regular food. It’s nice the swimming hole and fishing pond are separated. The bathrooms were always clean and the newer ones are very nice. Highly recommend.

Decent small family size campground

New owners are trying to improve campground, lots of locals visit esp. when it's hot out to swim in the man-made pond which leaves a nasty smell on your swimming suit. There is a fishing pond, little store, pavilion, basketball hoops, jumping pad for kids, playground and more for kids to do.
