      Very Enjoyable 1 night stay

We enjoyed our tent site with a wooden lean-to. Overall very private and peaceful, however the only drawback is that people took frequent casual walks pass the area all day long. There's really no way around that.

We did not get a chance to enjoy the amenities, but they all looked nice and well thought out.

      We will return.

An OK Campground but not Great

Camped out here for two nights after reading about this place in the"Best Tent Camping: New England" book. It's better than the other campgrounds in Rhode Island that I looked at (Burlingame, Fort Getty) but isn't my favorite campground. If you're not a Rhode Island resident the fee for most sites is$36/night. Is it worth it? Eh, probably not unless you're really jonesing to camp for a weekend in the Ocean State.

It does have some great things going for it, namely the hiking trails and views of the lake. There are some tent-only sites which are numbered T1-T5. I stayed in T5 and it was the best of the bunch because it had the most privacy and space, including a grassy area. The other tent-only sites were fairly small and if you go to any mixed use sites you run the risk of having an RV next to you. The A1-A7 sites are remote and hike in, but you're going to have to hike either 0.4 or 0.6 miles through some uneven terrain. The next best group of sites would be 19-24 which are on their own small loop near the lake.

The things I didn't like were the streetlights over the port-a-potties that shine all night. There is a manned gate where you check in and you have to get let into the campground during the day, but at night the gates are wide open and it seems like some people know this because there are a few oddballs around in the early morning. There is swimming at the lake but it looked way too dirty.

Overall the place was managed very well, the sites were cleanish and the grounds were taken care of. The employees drove by at least once an hour, I thought they were collecting trash from dumpsters but the only place with a dumpster is near the entrance. I couldn't figure out why they kept driving by so often. I had a good time, it was relaxing and scratched the camping itch.

      Only one negative!!!

Absolutely beautiful. When we drove in we fell in love with the grounds!! We were in site B9. We have a 25” B+ and basically had to park sideways and use a lot of leveling blocks to get our rig level. As we walked around we spoke to others who had similar problems with the sites not being level. We recommend this campground but just be prepared and bring plenty of leveling blocks! The office did provide us with additional blocks to level so they were very accommodating.

      Top tier

Very clean, not as busy, and has all the basics. Everyone complains about the local small wildlife getting into your food but basic practices can keep them out so it’s not a problem I had

      Our Favorite Campground

Normandy Farms is perfect. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is lovely. The sites are level, the bathrooms/showers are spotless with piped in music and hairdryers. It's one of the few campgrounds that really is a resort. This was our second visit and it just keeps getting better. They've added a huge covered area with a snack bar and a big TV over the fireplace next to the Recreation Lodge. It's not far from a park and ride area, so taking the train into Boston is easy.

      A Must Visit!!

This is a phenomenal campground! It has it all: large campsites, tons of activities for kids to include bike track, frisbee, tons of games, multiple playgrounds, multiple pools, daily crafts. Our site had the perfect amount of shade overall a great experience!

      Beautiful!

Above average, nice sized spots, clean amenities, level plots, heated pool and hot tub, leave you alone if you want peace (which some nicer places don't!!), tons of activities for the kids .

      A smorgasbord of fun

Normandy Farm has something for everyone and then some. 4 pools, an activity center lodge you could hold a beautiful wedding for a couple hundred in. From Dining, to an RC race track to a huge disc golf course to an awesome store and gift shop to large camp sites and lots of friendly guests from all over.

      Updated information! Good site.

Okay, I will try to update this information on the Dyrt site, but I’ve had mixed success getting that to stick. So if you are confused about things like location, let’s knock that out first:

This campground is located near 2185 Putnam Pike, Chepachet, RI 02814. It’s by Bowdish Lake, near the Connecticut border. This is a cool area of Rhode Island that I enjoyed getting the chance to explore a little bit. Great Italian restaurant if you don’t feel like cooking (Mr Z’s By The Lake) and some historical sites like a very nice covered bridge to the northwest.

Full water and electrical hookup and a very unique and fun play area for kids. The lake access is excellent, obviously. Pay showers of varying degrees of cleanliness. Open to tents, but clearly preferred by the RV crowd.

Very clean bathrooms & Hot showers

Sites were well spaced and provided some privacy depending on your site choice. Grounds were well kept, bathrooms were very clean with hot showers (bring quarters, $1.50 for 6mins). Staff was friendly and helpful, with park rangers making regular rounds.

      This is it

This is the place that will raise the bar for all the others

Everything was fantastic. If I could pick ONE thing to improve it would be bigger shower stalls. But seriously. There is so much to do and so much amazing staff that you’d never have to leave.

      Large shady sites

This campground fronts on a lovely lake. The sites are spacious and most are fairly level. If I were coming in a large RV (and the sites are big enough to accommodate large RV’s) I would stick to the main road & avoid the loop roads. No hookups, but a really pretty campground. BTW: Your GPS may take you to a maintenance site about 2 miles west of the campground entrance. There is room to turn around! Just continue about 2 miles & you will get to the campground.

      Our Maiden Voyage

Newbies We booked 2 nights after Thanksgiving to take our 2004 Holiday Rambler for our first trip. I believe it’s the last week the park is open for the season. Water is off but we were made aware of this when we booked. It snowed briefly Friday night. Explored the grounds and imagine it’s a wonderful and busy park in season. Many amenities and convenient to Gillette and all the shops. We ate locally and enjoyed all the shops. We’ll be back- if we’re able to get a spot, I understand it’s tough to do.

      Our Favorite Place

We have always loved it here. It is rustic camping, no water or electricity and the bathroom is an outhouse and no showers. The people are friendly and we have always had a good time. The kids can hang out in the clubhouse if it’s raining or swim in the pond if it’s hot. Lots of hiking trails.

      Normandy Farms Campground

      Wow.

This is more luxury than campground, but if that is your style then you will love this place. Four pools? Sauna? Spotless campsites (even charcoal is removed from fire pit rings between guests!)? Arcade? Beautifully designed buildings? Yes, this place has it all and more. This campground also has two of the best playgrounds I’ve seen at any venue.

That said, as a lover of campgrounds I would really give this a 4.5 because it is truly cramped. Some sites are just glorified parking spaces with a sewer hookup. There is tree cover in many places, but there is zero privacy at the sites.

Long story short: if you are looking for pampered fun then go here. If you are looking for “real camping” go to a state park for 1/5 the price.

This is what Glamping was made for

First things first- no bugs!! That’s right I didn’t know what I was missing till I notice I wasn’t getting bit alive by mosquitoes!!! They spray for them!!! So you can enjoy the outside without the pesky bites that come with camping!

Then of course there is the luxury of having two pools, a ton of fun activities for kids, (fishing , dog park, horseshoes, tennis, basketball, etc)! It’s probably my favorite spot in New England merely for all the luxuries that come with this site!!!

Plus you are close to Gillette and shopping!! Can get better then that!

      Nice and quiet

Nice camp ground with friendly but not nosey neighbors. Fishing was great for the grandchildren to get excited catching something, lots of small blue gill. Kids loved the bike riding. If you have a small craft or paddle boards the water adventures look fun. Life guard on duty kept safety high. Nights were so quiet you could hear crickets on the other side of camp. Water not to far from sites. Tenting was great.
