Acres Of Wildlife Family Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

A long dirt road leads into Acres Of Wildlife Family Campground in Steep Falls, Maine, and that access route is worth knowing about before arrival. Reviewers note the road can be a challenge, and campers with RVs or trailers should come prepared. The campground runs from May through mid-October and accommodates rigs up to 60 feet with full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer. Bring extension cords and sewer hose extensions, as several sites have connection points in awkward positions.

Activities here lean heavily toward families with children. The campground sits on a lake with kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats available for rent, plus multiple playgrounds, a camp store, a bar, and an ice cream stand. Golf carts are common on the roads, and a few reviewers mention them buzzing past sites in clusters, occasionally after quiet hours. Jordyn T. notes that tent sites were "spacious and had a decent amount of privacy," which helps offset the campground's busy atmosphere. Site spacing is generous enough that neighboring campers rarely feel on top of each other.

Pets are welcome, and the campground tags animals on arrival so they can be returned if they wander. Nearby, Sebago Lake Family Campground and Nasons Beach and Campground give campers additional options in the area, useful context for those exploring campgrounds near Sebago on a longer trip. Reservations are recommended, particularly for summer weekends when the campground draws a high volume of families.

Big campground, great for families.

Huge campground on a lake with SO MANY activities, but also a lot of screaming kids. There’s fishing, boats for rent, and an activity calendar to keep all ages entertained. There are definitely quieter places to camp, but we had a lot of fun!

Good camping

Be sure to bring extensions for electrical and sewer as a lot of sites are set up with difficult connection spots. Relatively level sites, long dirt road to get to is a bit of a problem

Weekend get away

I felt it was very awesome that they tag your pets incase they get loose somehow then they can be returned to you. They also gift them nice milk bones. The site was easy to access and was roomy enough for our bikes and dogs outside. The space between us and our neighbors is significant. The only thing that caught me off a bit is the use of golf carts. At times you can have 5 or 6 going past your site at once. I'm undecided it I care or hate it. Itll ilsll just unusual enough to me to mentiloln l.

INCREDIBLE TIME

A must ! This camp ground is FULL of fun for kids. There is activities and 2/3 playgrounds. We went 2019 and It was tragic we were cancelled due to corona virus this year. We will be making time to go before School starts up this year. This place totally rocks.

Big Family Campground

Spent the weekend here for their Halloween weekend. So much to do at this campground! The only issue was Saturday night. Golf carts are available to rent but there was a lot that went buzzing by after quiet hours & kept us awake.

Great family fun!

We’ve been going here each year with our boys for 5 years. It’s the only camp ground my kids request! Amazing family activities to keep kids occupied, great sites, clean bathrooms (free showers), and a good restaurant if you don’t want to cook. I know this will be the camp ground my kids remember when they’re grown.

Great experience

We went the last weekend they were open for the season (sometime in October) and it was a blast! Tent sites were spacious and had a decent amount of privacy. Electric and water hookups at tent sites. General store and amenities were clean and well taken care of! A lot of families around but it wasn’t distracting since the sites were private enough. Definitely recommend!

Family-centric, easy, fun and lots of free activities included

I was wary of camping in a family campground, but now that we have two kids, it seemed like an easy way to tire the kids out while still getting a big dose of ourdoor time. They had three (!!) playgrounds, a swimming lake, kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, tie-dying, a great camp store, a bar for adults, ice cream bar for kids and nightly firetruck rides! I had a lot more fun than I thought I would-- definitely going back!
