Excellent campground

With all the new renovations over the past 4 years this is a much improved campground. Great place to camp or stop if you want to visit New Orleans or surrounding areas.

Don't bother

Well, the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the people who work there, otherwise it would have been none. I almost got stuck twice because the spots aren't on solid ground and the spaces are too close together. They are a mix of sand and dirt. Place was a mess after Hurricane Ida, but don't let people stay if it's that bad and charge the same rate. I wasn't impressed by the place as I left after one night due to river flooding. I was also told my spot would have a 30 amp plug in, which it didn't. When I arrived someone else was parked in my spot and I had to wait 20 minutes for them to move. Not impressed in the least and probably won't go back. At least I didn't use the language my friend did to describe the place as a "dump."

FAMILY FUN

We came here during the week so we had a little more space to ourselves. We were able to ride bikes and kayak. There's a river that runs right through the campground. A small "general store" is a real convience for those of us who forget the ketchup! The campsite was quite muddy due to the large amount of rain recently. Took 2 blocks to level off. Very nice camp hosts are fellow campers. We were in site 16 which had electricity and water. Dump station available.

Looks like a blast!

Traveling through for the night. Just a few minutes from the interstate. Spacious sites. Friendly staff. They are upgrading many things in the park like electric, location of setups, etc. Has fishing and more. This park looks like a blast to come to on holidays for the family. They already have Christmas decorations up, a train ride ready and more! No doubt a great place to bring the family. Will stop by next time through. Hope it's when festivities are going.

Fun family campground

this campground has been around for a long time.  It has great festive activities for the seasonal holidays and a general laid back mind set year round.  Halloween decorations were in full effect.  The campground has a river running through it making it a great option to go up river and kayak back down.

The campground is split into 2 sides - primitive and RV.  A general store sits in the middle for any necessities.  We setup our tent area in the primitive area near the river/beach area.  It has many trails to walk through, open areas for activities, bath houses, and more.
