Fishing enthusiasts will find direct lake access at Wallashuck, an Army Corps of Engineers campground on the shores of Lake Red Rock. The campground operates seasonally from late April through mid-October, with sites accommodating RVs up to 71 feet and offering electric and water hookups. Access requires navigating some rough terrain, but multiple entry options include drive-in, walk-in, and boat-in access points.

Campsites spread throughout the forested setting, with some positioned to overlook the lake. Each site includes a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern pole. The facility provides clean restrooms and showers, though Tom notes the showers "have good hot water but could use a deep cleaning." A playground serves families with children, and a bike trail connects to the broader area.

The campground maintains a generally quiet atmosphere when not at capacity. Firewood is available for purchase at the entrance, and the dump station serves RV users. Town access to Pella remains convenient for supply runs. Sites vary in privacy levels, with some offering more seclusion than others. For additional camping options in the region, visitors can explore campgrounds around Lake Red Rock.

Reservations are accepted for this $20-24 per night campground, and pets are welcome throughout the facility.

Large well layed out campgrounds

Campsites are well spaced, some have good views of the lake. Men’s bathroom is clean, showers have good hot water but could use a deep cleaning. Bike trail. Very quite when we stayed there.

Convenience with some space

We were able to camp in a tent near RVs without feeling crowded. The restrooms, showers, and playground were all close by…great for camping with kids. There were some nicer than ours and some with less privacy or further away than we’d prefer.

A nice mix of convenience and privacy. Perfect location to showers and playground for kids. Ample space for our needs, but not overly private

Decent

Good place close to Pella and Knoxville. Some sites on Red Rock. Little pricey for not having full hookups. Overall good place.
