Roadman Roadside Park

Managed by the Grundy County Conservation Board, this walk-in campground sits alongside a small lake within Roadman Park. The facility provides flush toilets, drinking water, and picnic tables, though no shower facilities or RV hookups are available. Mowed grass areas accommodate tent camping, while RVs would need to use the gravel parking area.

The single camper review notes the site's quiet atmosphere and well-maintained grounds, with trees providing natural setting around the water feature. Access requires walking in from the parking area. For those exploring the region, Grundy County Lake and Campground offers additional facilities just 1.5 miles southeast. This spot functions primarily as an overnight stopping point rather than a destination campground.

Cheap and clean

I kind of accidentally found this campground while searching for another one. It worked out well as I was tired of driving. There isn’t much to this place, which might be why I had the whole place to myself. It’s quiet, set in a lovely setting with trees and a small lake/pond, and it has flush toilets (but no showers). It is well maintained even if it is a bit older. The grass was mown and made for a nice bed for my tent. There are no hookups of any kind for RVs and I’m not really sure you can have an RV anywhere but in the gravel parking lot. This isn’t a camping destination so much as a good place to post up for a night.
