A park on the outskirts of Evansville Indiana. Has many things to do for the weekend. Many nearby attractions and activities. They have primitive tent sites RV sites with E&W,some also have sewer. Stay the weekend or up to 3 months or longer.
Large sites. Great access to water. 30 and 50 amp hookups. Bathhouses clean and easy access to fishing, local attractions and if you do need something the staff was eager and fast to get the problem fixed. Definately a campground to keep on the revisit list..
A relaxing weekend well spent. My husband and I have been to Lake Celina for a day hike before, so when planning where to go for a weekend of car camping choosing this place was a no brainer. Lots of different kinds of campgrounds depending on your preference. If youāre the kind who wanna socialize or in a large group who needs a campground within eyeshot, south loop is more for your taste. Thereās lots of RVs parked, people chatting, laid back drinking beer just having a good time! My husband and I wanted a secluded quite camp as we also have our pup who gets a little too excited around strangers and other dogs. We got that in #7 camp in north loop. We felt like we own the place!
A large group of us rented two of the floating cabins and it was a blast. Plenty of space for sleeping with a kitchen and modern facilities. The boating and fishing are pretty good as well.
This place was perfect for primitive camping. There were people with horses and horse carriers but no issue with space or any smell. Great trails that our kids (ages 2-9) loved. Only reason for 4 stars is no drinking water or fire pit.
Great 25 mile loop with lots to see and unique camping shelters dispersed throughout the trail.
Overgrown in some areas, so a little bushwhacking.
Finished up with a swim in the Blue River.
We go every fall with our entire family to enjoy the Halloween activities. The campers all go all out and let the kids trick or treat. There is even a group who does a haunted house and it is so fun! My only complaint is it's very close to Field of Screams, the haunted park and it gets noisy at night.
Update review: LOVE this park. Friendly people, great spots and awesome beach/lake. Sopts are 65ft wide, so your not on top of each other. If you got a boatā¦GO there, the lake is huge!
We stayed at site 197 from Wednesday to Sunday for our third trip to the Patoka campground. By far the best location as we had a trail from our site directly to a rocky beach on the lake. Frankly, site 200 is the penultimate site on this loop with copious amounts of space and two trails to the lake from the site. Being only three sites down, it was not a bad walk. Small bluffs and large rocks there make a perfect perch to watch lake traffic, amazing sunsets and breathtaking views of the night sky. We could see just about all the stars. Itās a bit of a hike to the bathrooms and even more so to the showers and itās a solid hike with two 5 year olds to the playground. Going forward, these will be the first sites we check.
Nice large campground⦠most sites are very nice! Electric hookups only⦠fresh water fill as you enter and spigots throughout the park to top off if you have enough hose⦠Marina has boats and toys to rent⦠dump station has 4 lanes⦠cell reception is ok and antenna tv is pretty good⦠a couple of bars/restaurants right outside the gate to the park along with a local winery⦠gas station with lots of camping and boating supplies
