Highway noise from the nearby road creates a constant backdrop at this lakefront campground that draws families for its water activities and seasonal community. Indian Springs Campground spreads across approximately 500 sites, with the front section offering better-maintained camping areas while the back half houses long-term residents in older RVs surrounded by accumulated belongings.
The single bathhouse serves the entire property and sits at the front near the beach area. Reviewers consistently mention cleanliness issues with restroom facilities, and one portable toilet in the back receives poor marks from campers. Sites vary significantly in condition, with some lakefront spots providing direct water access while others consist mainly of dirt with minimal grass coverage. During rain, several areas turn muddy according to multiple visitor accounts.
Lake access supports fishing, kayaking, and swimming, plus the campground operates a water slide for an additional fee. Weekend activities include hay rides, though Kevin R. notes "the fireworks were amazing." The property maintains a gated entrance with staff check-in required for entry.
For those seeking alternatives in the region, camping near Garrett provides additional options. Book ahead during summer months when families fill most available sites.
