Best Cabin Camping near New Meadows, ID

Cabin accommodations near New Meadows include options like Peninsula Campground at Ponderosa State Park and Paddy Flat Guard Station. Most cabins are equipped with electricity and water hookups, while some offer additional amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, and nearby toilet facilities. Peninsula Campground cabins feature rustic interiors with basic furnishings. "The campground is beautiful and the couple maintaining the sites are meticulous," noted one visitor about Peninsula Campground. Several locations provide shower facilities, though availability may be seasonal or limited due to maintenance.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. Many cabins require reservations well in advance, especially during summer months when Peninsula Campground experiences high visitor traffic. Adams Ranger Station offers a historical log cabin experience with mountain views but no cell service. A visitor remarked, "Beautiful log cabin in the mountains of Idaho, located in Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest, so astonishing views are plentiful." Pet policies vary by location, with Peninsula Campground and McCall RV Resort allowing pets while others like Buck Park Cabin prohibit them.

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Limited kitchen facilities are common, with some locations providing only basic cooking surfaces or fire pits. Paddy Flat Guard Station offers both electric hookups and sewer connections but no drinking water on site. Visitors should plan to bring drinking water, headlamps, and food supplies, as noted in reviews for more remote cabins like Adams Ranger Station. Campgrounds with on-site markets include Peninsula Campground, McCall RV Resort, and Blackhorse Campground, making it easier to purchase forgotten essentials during a stay.

    Adams Ranger Station

    Mountain Views and Rich History

Beautiful log cabin in the mountains of Idaho, located in Nez Perce Clearwater National Forest, so astonishing views are plentiful. There is no cell service here, so prepare for the trip ahead, print out your maps to the station, otherwise getting lost on your way here is a very likely possibility. BYO drinking water, headlamps and sense of adventure. Pack out what you pack in..must respect the power of nature.

Near by attractions are Florence which is a well known location for gold mining in days past, nice place to hike and explore the area’s history.

McCall RV Resort - Northfolk Lodge

The Best RV Campsite in McCall, Idaho!!!

We reserved a spot here to prepare for a rafting trip we had won from the McCall WinterFest. We are so glad we did!!! This place ROCKS! We have a 27' Travel Trailer RV and we reserved a full hook-up site. The staff was friendly and we were escorted the staff to the site we reserved. The location is nice and quiet, awa from traffic. They have a nice lodge with an indoor heated swimming pool. Each site had a picnic table but no fire pit where we stayed. We had a portable grill to cook our meals. The property is very clean and the staff is ver friendly. Can't ask for anything more!

Check out the link to a video of our camping trip to Fish Lake Campground.

This is my favorite place to camp. Beautiful views, outstanding action packed trout fishing. Far away from anything. Nice restrooms and natural spring is plumbed in to the campground. Best water I have ever tasted. This place is awesome, you won’t be disappointed.

Peninsula Campground — Ponderosa State Park

If You Like A Fish Bowl

This campground boasts lovely showers and bathrooms. All well and good if you like to be in a fishbowl. There is no privacy between camp spaces. The rangers do not enforce the quiet hour rule and you get woken up in the middle of the night by screaming kids. Not my idea of a fun camping experience.

Boise National Forest Warm Lake Campground

A Pleasant Camping Area North of Boise, Idaho

This campsite is located east of Cascade Lake and Donnelly, Idaho. It's a scenic road to get there. The camsite we were in was dry camping with no hook-ups. The camping pad for our 27' Travel Trailer was nice and level. Each campsite had a picnic table and a firepit. There are some nice hiking trails in the vicinity. Mountain biking and horse riding is acceptable there as well. Since we had kayaks, we had a short drive to the boat ramp. There is excellent trout fishing. There is a small swim beach near the Warm Lake Lodge and Restaurant, near where the cabins are. All in all, a great stay, away from the city :-) It's a nice peaceful setting.

Clean, leveled, friendly, only 1/4 mile to their downtown. Friendly and helpful staff, showers, toilets, beach area for swimming WITH lounge chairs, swimming right in front, volleyball court, dog walking trails, fire pits, horse shoe play area, etc! Only wish I was able to do laundry but coming back again! Oh and the best part, great fishing under the bridge!

Boise National Forest Warm Lake Campground

    Remote and beautiful

    Warm Lake Campground

Quite a drive to this beautiful lake but apparently it is well liked by locals because it was crowded!

The water is crystal clear and fishing is popular. There is a trail that goes completely around the lake but we turned back when a snake crossed our path.

There is a tent area, rental cabins and a camper area. I had no signal, bring a map.

The forest fires were further into the forest but the smoke haze was ever present.

Boise National Forest Warm Lake Campground

    Worth the drive

Warm Lake Is BEAUTIFUL! Peaceful, dark and REMOTE.

Quite a drive to this beautiful lake but apparently it is well liked by locals because it was crowded! People fishing everywhere, people all around the lodge, trail and beach.

The water is crystal clear and fishing is popular. There is a trail that goes completely around the lake but we turned back when a snake crossed our path.

There are several options to include a group camping area, a shoreline primitive area, rental cabins and a Rec vehicle area. The lodge offers pretty much everything you could need, but considering how busy they are I would try to bring what I needed.

What campers like

Rustic cabin interiors: Wood-paneled walls and basic furnishings characterize many cabin rentals near New Meadows. At Buck Park Cabin, a camper notes: "It's rustic. Not much to it but it did offer a sheltered place to build a fire/get warm and weather a bad storm."

Indoor amenities: Some higher-end accommodations include unexpected comforts. "The indoor pool and spa and steam room made this my favorite park so far on our journey," explains a visitor at McCall RV Resort - Northfolk Lodge, which maintains year-round operations.

Privacy levels: Cabin spacing varies significantly between locations. "Sites have plenty of space between you and your neighbors," reports a camper at Warm Lake Campground, while others note some locations position cabins closer together.

Riverside settings: Water access ranks highly among cabin preferences. "We had a beautiful site on the river," comments a visitor at Arrowhead RV Park on the River, highlighting the location's waterfront cabin options.

What you should know

Reservation timing: During peak summer months, cabins book quickly at popular locations. "Plan ahead and book early. Great campsites with full hook ups and amenities," advises a camper about Peninsula Campground.

Phone coverage: Cell service remains spotty throughout the region. "I had no signal, bring a map," warns a Warm Lake visitor, suggesting downloading offline maps before arrival.

Kid-friendly facilities: Playground equipment exists at select locations. "Fun REC for kids, playground, and party fire pit area," mentions an Arrowhead RV Park visitor, though they caution about limited space between sites.

Trail difficulty: Consider age-appropriate hiking options. "There is a trail that goes completely around the lake but we turned back when a snake crossed our path," warns a Warm Lake visitor, suggesting shorter segments for younger children.

Site accessibility: Blackhorse Campground accommodates varying RV sizes but requires advance planning. "Stayed at site 2, it was huge and very private. All the sites have river access," notes a visitor describing one of the more spacious options.

Leveling requirements: Site preparation varies between locations. "Sites are pretty level," reports a Waters Edge visitor, while others mention bringing leveling blocks for certain cabin areas.

Hookup variations: Electric, water and sewer connections differ significantly between cabin rental locations. "We reserved a full hook-up site," mentions a McCall RV Resort visitor, noting the staff assistance with connections.

Winter considerations: Some locations close seasonally while others remain open with limited services. "Coming back again!" states a Waters Edge visitor who enjoyed the October stay but noted pipe freezing during their final night.
