    Rivers Edge RV Park

    Camping with a River View

This summer we tried Rivers Edge Rv Park for the first time and had a great experience. On our drive up to Pacific Northwest in early August we did tent camping here and in late September we tried the cabins along the river. Wonderful quiet location, good hosts and amazing sunsets on the Snake River. If you stay in the cabins, just a note that this is a place where you need to bring your own bedding and kitchen items, however there is a hot plate and sink, plus a microwave. The ladder steps up to the bedroom was an adventure in itself😛 No bathrooms in the cabin, but there is a community bathroom and shower. One star off because the bathroom really does need to be updated. Shower was a bit grungy. But for everything great about this place, I know we will be back!

    Rivers Edge RV Park

    Beautiful!

Traveling through Idaho and made this reservation online just an hour before arrival. Very simple to reserve.

We have a 38' 5th wheel pulled with a dually pickup. It was a tight fit, but after we were parked, it was awesome. We were in space #5. After unhooking, we did park the pickup across the lane in space they have for extra vehicles. Hook ups were simple. Although the sewer pipe at our site was a little high, so we had to really use risers under our drain pipe to get it to that level. Other sites seemed ground level.

When we left the next morning, we did have to pull out the "entrance" lane, as the angle of the space and smaller area, we couldn't turn sharp enough for the exit lane.

We could watch the sunset over the Snake River from out campsite. No bugs and lots of shade. Quiet campground.......except the duck hunters on other properties.
We didn't use the restrooms, etc. there.

They have very nice metal fire pits and a decent picnic table at each site. If you needed to stay in a cabin, they looked very nice. The larger one with the bathroom, was a beautiful site.

The price was great, especially for full hookups. I wish we could have stayed more than one night.

We would definitely stay there again.

McCormack Campground — Lake Owyhee State Park

    McCormack Campground

We stayed at site 40 at McCormack Campground of Lake Owyhee State Park. We called a few hours I heard and were told that there were several walk up so it’s available. When we arrived this has not changed. The drive up to the park is very scenic with lots of spots for flyfishing. The campground and the facilities ade clean and the views are beautiful. There is currently fire pit and grill ban but propane and butane cooktops are allowed. The water level it was long but still plenty for a swim. There were several fishing water skiing boats on the lake. Would have gladly stayed a couple more days. The only complaint was that the occupants of trailer sites above had their porch/string/rope lights on still at midnight taking away from the beauty of the night sky.

    Rivers Edge RV Park

Best little Campgound in the area!

Best little Campgound in the area! Sits right on the Snake River, large grassy area with lots of shade, Cabins, tent sites, limited full hookups, electric, covered picnic tables, small boat dock, 2 horseshoe pits excellent catfishing, supplied fire rings (you can buy wood there), they just added a TeePee! The host, Turk, and his wife, Meghan, are absolutely, by far the best camp hosts we've ever dealt with. Dogs are allowed. BEST SUNSETS EVER!

    Rivers Edge RV Park

    Such a DISAPPOINTMENT

The cabin we reserved for two nights was such a disappointment, becasue of the time we arrived we forced ourselves to stay one night. The floors were not clean and sleeping on the bed provided was like sleeping on a pie tin. it crinkled and cracked everytinme you moved. The cabin door you could not lock and the bathroom was unbelievably dirty. The shower was more like a drip.

    Rivers Edge RV Park

Would not recommend if you want any piece and quiet!

We arrived for our weekend mid-afternoon on Friday. Parked our trailer in our designated spot in the middle of the grassy area near the horseshoe pits. After unloading, setting up and taking a walk around the park (down to the river, dock, beach area, etc) it became obvious that this was not the place we expected it to be based on other reviews!

We decided to give it some time and benefit of the doubt. Made dinner and ate outside (weather was perfect). During dinner we were treated to the drunken, LOUD ramblings of other campers - complete with foul language at the highest volume possible! Permanent residents at the back of the park left a lot to be desired. Messy camp sites.

There are no hiking trails or places to explore. If you don't have a camp spot right on the water, fishing access is horrible - only super shallow, reed-filled openings. Certainly not what we expected from a riverfront park with great reviews. The fishing dock is a joke, the water near and around the dock is a filthy, grime filled, trash collecting mess!

Tried to get our child to bed before 10pm but was virtually impossible with the level of noise coming from the group area (which was across the park, mind you), not to mention music streaming loudly from several other campers all around. 10pm quiet hour does not seem to matter to the hosts who did nothing to help those of us who expect rules to be followed.

By first thing in the morning, we had found another camp site to flee to and we couldn't get out of there fast enough!

Never again will we be back. Never again.

    Sunny Ridge RV Park

    Okay For A Short Stay

Sunny Ridge is okay, I guess, but the heat, no shade, the FLIES, FLIES AND MORE FLIES, are really wearing on my patience. It's good for those that are gone most of the day, like hunting or exploring. It’s also right off Hwy 95, right off the highway, my spot about 50’ away. It’s loud. There’s some shade provided to a few sites, but I’m not in one of those. Shade sites are few: 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, 14 and maybe 15, sites 2 and 10 are partial shade. There’s some green grass/weeds, but the site I’m in is dirt with some brown scrub. It’s dusty and muddy when it gets wet. The town is too small to support a grocery store but the convenience and small hardware stores have some basics. I paid$45 for a miniature hack saw and three ¾” x 3’ pieces of pvc pipe to fix my trailer pantry shelves. This entire area is geared, right now, for hunters; antelope season just opened and I’m sure deer and other game seasons will also open soon. Internet works well, no issues. T-Mobile works great. Restrooms/showers are fine but dated. Restroom/shower only allow for one at a time. Laundry room has two sets of W/Ds, but only one set is operational. Quail abound here, fun to watch. Full hookups, but the spot where I was (#40) only had a 50A connection. My 50A-30A converter fixed it quickly.

Country Corners Campground & RV Park

    Cozy and quiet

I have lived here full-time for over 3 years. It is beautiful, quiet, calm, and very safe for children and families. The rates are some of the cheapest around the country, and there is a group site for picnicking with a fire pit. There are tent sites with fire pits as well as RV spots and truck campers are always welcome as well. 24/7 free showers, and laundry @1.25. there is a phone number to call if you get in after business hours or you can just fill out a sheet and find a spot for the night and hook up. Owners are very laid back, and welcoming. We all rely on the old school honor system around here.

Guide to Nampa

Cabin rentals near Nampa, Idaho provide access to the Snake River watershed at elevations between 2,200-4,000 feet. The region features desert climate conditions with hot, dry summers reaching 90°F+ and cold winters that can drop below freezing. Most cabin accommodations in the area require advance reservations, especially during summer months when temperatures and visitation peak.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: The Snake River system offers catfishing access at Rivers Edge RV Park with shoreline access directly from the campground. "Best little Campgound in the area! Sits right on the Snake River, large grassy area with lots of shade, Cabins, tent sites, limited full hookups, electric, covered picnic tables, small boat dock, 2 horseshoe pits excellent catfishing, supplied fire rings."

Water recreation: Lake Owyhee State Park's McCormack Campground offers boating and paddling opportunities on the reservoir. "We came here to kayak and did load our Hobie Mirages on the kayak wheels and pulled them down to the lake which was about a quarter mile over big rocks and gravel because of the extremely low water level." Water levels fluctuate seasonally, affecting shoreline access.

Hot springs access: Campers staying in cabins near Nampa can visit local hot springs. Given's Hot Springs maintains a mineral pool that's "as warm as a bathtub, but still cool enough that you don't overheat in 15 minutes." The water temperature stays consistent year-round, making it accessible in all seasons.

What campers like

Riverside locations: Boise Riverside RV Park provides cabin accommodations with immediate access to urban recreation. "This spot is on the Boise River, a short trek from wineries, shopping and the river. Something for everyone! Nice people, great location." The 19-mile greenbelt trail connects directly to the campground property.

Wildlife viewing: Multiple cabin locations offer wildlife observation opportunities. "We had mule deer and a covey of quail visit us mornings and evenings" at Indian Creek Campground. Similarly, Sunny Ridge reports "Quail abound here, fun to watch" with additional sightings of deer and cattle on the surrounding hillsides.

Quiet rural settings: Many campers appreciate the rural location of Country Corners Campground, which offers both cabin rentals and tent camping areas. "I have lived here full-time for over 3 years. It is beautiful, quiet, calm, and very safe for children and families. The rates are some of the cheapest around the country."

What you should know

Water supply concerns: Given's Hot Springs has limited drinking water options. "The only water available comes from the hot spring, so you have to take cold water to mix it, or wait for it to cool before drinking." Plan to bring additional drinking water.

Road conditions: Lake Owyhee State Park cabins require navigating challenging roads. "The road in is very narrow, single lane, winding, and along the side of a steep cliff into the lake, maybe 15 minutes to drive. Pretty scary. Glad we didn't encounter any cars or boats coming the other direction."

Facility maintenance: Bathroom and shower facilities vary significantly between locations. Some cabins near Nampa have well-maintained facilities while others report issues: "Bathrooms were clean and operational, and quiet" at one location while another reports "The bathrooms... horror movie material! Showers, I'm pretty sure have never been cleaned."

Tips for camping with families

Safety considerations: Lake Owyhee State Park cabins are in remote locations without cell service. "This campground is roughly 40 miles from the nearest medical facilities and there is NO cell phone reception." Plan accordingly with first aid supplies and emergency plans.

Swimming options: Several locations offer swimming opportunities for children. At Rivers Edge RV Park, the "Swim area is pretty mucky and shallow. Swim dock is barely in the water." Water quality and depth vary seasonally.

Accommodation layout: When booking cabins for families, note specific sleeping arrangements. Several cabins include loft sleeping areas that may not be suitable for all ages. One location has cabins with "ladder steps up to the bedroom was an adventure in itself."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: Choose carefully when booking cabin or RV sites. "Try to get a back in site to the green belt if you can" at Boise Riverside for better views and more space. Corner sites typically offer more room for outdoor activities.

Weather preparation: Summer temperatures near Nampa regularly exceed 90°F, and shade is limited at many sites. "Sunny Ridge is okay, I guess, but the heat, no shade, the FLIES, FLIES AND MORE FLIES, are really wearing on my patience. It's good for those that are gone most of the day, like hunting or exploring."

Utility connections: Check utility placement before setting up, as some sites have awkwardly positioned hookups. "The sites are confusing. We had site 17, but the water was so far I needed 2 hoses. The electric hook up was too far for my power cord, and I couldn't reach the sewer hookups either."
