      Canyon Pines RV Resort

Solid Campground Not A lot to do

      ⭐ Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5

The campground is in good overall condition with several nice sites along the river, but there isn’t much to do on the property itself. It works well for an overnight stop, but it’s not a destination campground for longer stays.

      🏕️ Campground Grounds & Amenities — 4 / 5

      • The grounds are well maintained and clean. • Plenty of trash cans, riverfront spots, and ice/firewood available. • Laundry room and a small book exchange are nice touches. • Children’s play area and a horseshoe pit are available, though the pit only had three horseshoes, which made playing a bit awkward.

      🔌 Hookups — 3 / 5

      • Power and water worked perfectly. • Cable TV did not work, even though it was advertised. • Dump stations are available and easy to access.

      🚻 Restrooms — 3.5 / 5

      • Clean facilities with plenty of hot water in the showers. • Men’s room is small for a campground with 50 RV sites:• 1 urinal • 1 toilet • 2 showers

      📍 Area & Activities — 3 / 5

      • Not much to do on-site beyond the basics. • No hiking trails — just an asphalt driveway. • You’ll need a car to reach any local attractions or activities.

      👥 Camp Hosts — 4 / 5

      • Great communication before arrival via email and text. • Website was easy to use for booking. • Only negative: the female camp host approached us to tell us our outdoor rug couldn’t be on the grass. The request was reasonable, but the delivery was abrupt — no introduction or greeting. Not rude, but not warm either. A simple “Hi, I’m…” would have gone a long way.

🛏️ Who This Campground Is Best For

      • Overnight travelers • Road trippers needing a clean, reliable stop • RVers who want riverfront scenery but don’t need on-site activities

      🎯 Bottom Line

We’d stay here again for a one‑night stop, but it’s not ideal for a multi‑day stay unless you plan to spend most of your time off‑site.

      Chalet RV Park

      Good place!

This is a family friendly campground that is convenient to Donnelly and Cascade areas. AT&T 3bars LTE service as well as free wifi make communication and planning easy. Full Hookup sites, some tent sites, trash, showers, laundry, toilets all accessible with site rent. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Clean facilities, family owned.

      Riverside RV Park

RV Paradise in Riggins, ID Next to the Little Salmon

This RV Park is a little gem in Riggins, ID. Nestled next to the Little Salmon River, the sound of the river at your campsite is so soothing! The campground itself is narrow with only one row of sites available. It is situated between the Little Salmon River and HWY 95 (Main St.) you don't get much highway noise because Main St. is up high on a cliff which blocks the noise. Each site has a picnic table but no fire pit. It is $30/night and well worth it! Most sites have full hook up with cable TV and Wi-Fi available. This campground makes for a great home base for those that want to fly fish the Little Salmon and Salmon Rivers. You can also walk to downtown Riggins for a bite to eat or do some shopping :-) We had a great view of the Little Salmon River from the rear of our travel trailer. We would DEFINITELY stay at this campground again!

      Park At The River

Beautiful spot but not really camping

Park at the River is in a beautiful location but it’s a full blown RV park, not a campground. The big rigs are really packed in. The dry camping spots by the river are great until the neighbors run a generator all day long. There are all kinds of amenities within walking distance: stores, restaurants, mini golf, etc.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

      Lake cascade has it all

at 47 square miles lake cascade has it all. It is a beautiful upland lake that is warm enough to swim in all summer long and deep enough to have some serious fishing if you bring our boat. there are 10 campground units spread around the lake. I have stayed in 5 of those. On the west side of the lake you have huckleberry, which is shaded from the brutal afternoon sun due to being at the foot of west mountain and about 2 minutes from Tamarack ski resort. It has water, but no electricity or sewer for trailers. the beach is sandy and very nice. Poison Creek is farther south on the west side of the lake. This is a very nice trailer camp with W/S/E. The showers are awesome there too. On the north east side of the lake is sugarloaf. if you are camping it will be very hot during the summer. The swimming area and boat launch is worth the heat though. If you are coming up for the day I would stop there. Right in the town of cascade is ridgeview campground. This is a full service camp with wide and deep trailer spaces. If you are glamping this is the place to go. 2 minutes to the diner in town and wifi. The beach here is great and the views are really awesome. Just across the bay from ridgeview is the first come first serve crown point. there is community water and pit toilets but the beaches are granite outcroppings are great. I highly recommend lake cascade. And at 70 miles from Boise it can be a day trip.

Sugarloaf Campground — Lake Cascade State Park

Scenic Campsites Just North Of Boise, Idaho. A Nice Quick Getaway!

Lake Cascade State Park has some beautiful scenery from any of the sites you stay at. There is tent and RV camping in the area. I suggest reserving a site far in advance because they fill up quick. The lake freezes over in the winter time, but if you are willing to rough it in cold weather, there are some sites available. Call before you head to the lake. There are several activities you can do at this campground, from fishing, boating, sailing and Moutain biking. Some sites have full hook-ups and there is a dumpstation for RVs. There are some ADA sites as well as group and Yurt camping. This campground is for everyone! From those willing to rough it to those who are into "glamping" :-)

      Hells Canyon Park

      Great hosts, lovely grounds

The campground itself is ok. If you get a site down by the water, those are the only ones with picnic tables and fire pits (19, 20, 21, 22, D1, D2, D3, where D = no hookups). Many of the sites with hookups are basically parallel parking spots but they don’t have their own picnic tables or fire pits. There are no tents allowed on the grass in the RV area, they are allowed on the pavement only. Tents are of course welcome on the grass in the tent camping area. There are picnic tables and fire rings in the tent area. Sites 6 and 8 were very sunny and hot. There is river access for swimming, shady areas over by the swimming area, and shady areas with picnic tables in the day use areas. The tent sites appeared to be on a slope. The camp host was THE BEST! She moved us out of a sunny site and had one available with a fire pit and picnic table for our first night. She checked back in frequently and was delightful to visit with. She takes excellent care of her guests and made the whole weekend especially enjoyable. There are docks available for boat parking and additional parking available for boat trailers. The grass is as green as can be and is watered daily which makes it very nice. There are flush toilets and a shower for guests to use as well as some porta potties. Dogs are welcome and must be leashed at all times. There are trash receptacles for waste and the campground was incredibly clean and nice.

Boise National Forest Warm Lake Campground

A Pleasant Camping Area North of Boise, Idaho

This campsite is located east of Cascade Lake and Donnelly, Idaho. It's a scenic road to get there. The camsite we were in was dry camping with no hook-ups. The camping pad for our 27' Travel Trailer was nice and level. Each campsite had a picnic table and a firepit. There are some nice hiking trails in the vicinity. Mountain biking and horse riding is acceptable there as well. Since we had kayaks, we had a short drive to the boat ramp. There is excellent trout fishing. There is a small swim beach near the Warm Lake Lodge and Restaurant, near where the cabins are. All in all, a great stay, away from the city :-) It's a nice peaceful setting.

      Horsethief Reservoir Campground

      Lakeside multi-loop campgrounds

Horsethief reservoir is at about 5,000 feet just east of Cascade Idaho off Warm Lake road. There are 5 public campground loops around the north and northwest shores under Idaho Fish and Game jurisdiction and managed by the Boise YMCA. Most of these loops have just been renovated and re-opened as of May 2022. ALL sites are first come, first served, no reservations. I was told there are about 115 camp sites between the 5 loops. One loop is unrenovated and more primitive/informal at the furthest east loop. We stayed in Osprey cove loop #24 which is one of very few pull-throughs. Most loops are paved with gravel camp site parking. Nice level camping/picnic pads at each site and new metal picnic tables. This lake offers great fishing and kayaking. Motorized boats OK, but NO WAKE allowed so you are just trolling at idle. Many camp sites are shaded. NO water/electric/sewer or dump stations or garbage. Take everything out that you brought in.
