Large with nice amenities

This site is huge! At least 50 people could use this site, which would make it great for reunions. There are plenty of toilets and a shaded picnic table area. There's also a little cabin with a wood burning stove inside. Only downside is that most of the site is shadeless so bring some canopies

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Third Creek Campground located and how do I get there?

Third Creek Group Site is located in a scenic valley area with beautiful valley walls. The campground is situated near a small creek that gives it its name. While specific driving directions aren't detailed, the site is accessible by road. Given its group designation, it's likely on a maintained forest service or public land access road. Contact the managing agency (likely Forest Service or BLM) for precise directions and road conditions before your trip, especially if traveling in larger vehicles or during shoulder seasons.

What amenities are available at Third Creek Campground?

Third Creek Campground offers several amenities for group camping. The site includes multiple toilets, a shaded picnic table area, and several tables distributed throughout the camping areas. There's a small cabin with a wood-burning stove inside, which provides a gathering space or shelter option. The campground has limited natural shade in the main camping area, so bringing canopies is recommended. A small creek runs through or near the property, adding to the natural appeal of the site.

What activities can I do near Third Creek Campground?

The Third Creek area offers several recreational opportunities. Visitors can explore the small creek that runs through the area or hike to see the impressive balancing rock formation nearby. Climbing up the surrounding valley walls provides great views of the landscape. The natural setting is perfect for photography, wildlife viewing, and stargazing. The expansive group site provides ample space for group games and activities. For more adventure, check out the hiking trails in the vicinity that lead to scenic overlooks of the beautiful valley.

How do I reserve a spot at Third Creek Group Campground?

Third Creek is a group site designed to accommodate large gatherings of up to 50 people, making it ideal for family reunions and other group events. As a designated group site, it likely requires advance reservations rather than first-come, first-served camping. Contact the managing agency (Forest Service, BLM, or state park system) directly to make reservations. Be prepared to provide your group size, dates, and possibly pay a reservation fee. Reserve well in advance, especially for summer weekends and holidays when group sites fill quickly.
