Within Clearwater National Forest, Aquarius Campground sits along the North Fork of the Clearwater River, where Katherine B. notes the class III rapids create "sounds that sent me to peaceful sleep." This US Forest Service campground provides drive-in access to sites positioned directly beside the water, though reviewers warn against bringing large RVs due to limited turning space when the campground fills up.
The campground features both individual and group sites spread along the riverbank, with most accommodating RVs despite the lack of hookups. Campers consistently mention the small beach areas where families can access the water for swimming and relaxation. Dense tree cover creates shade but limits satellite internet connectivity, as one reviewer discovered with Starlink service.
Fishing draws many visitors to these waters, while hiking trails extend into the surrounding forest. Several reviewers highlight wildlife viewing opportunities, including an unexpected rattlesnake sighting that quickly resolved when the snake moved off the trail. The sites offer standard amenities with picnic tables and fire pits, plus toilet facilities.
