Lake Wales Ridge State Forest manages Walk In The Water Campground, a drive-in and walk-in site set within forested terrain near a lake outside Frostproof. Full hookups are available, including electric, water, and sewer, which makes this more than a primitive stop despite the rustic feel. Very peaceful

It’s a very primitive location and I survived it with my son a daughter. It was nice and quiet, given how close it is to the main road. There are no showers or toilets, just portapotties, so take that in consideration when staying here. Other than that, it was a great place to stay and we’ll visit more often.
