Goat House Farm is a Farmher run 501(c)(3) farm in a rural area of Tallahassee on the beautiful Lake Talquin. The farm has its humble beginnings in the summer of 05 with four acres, four goats, and four chickens. Founded on the love of animals and a passion for sustainability, we remain committed to compassionate practices and the most natural care of our land and animals as possible.

As stewards of the land and herd, we believe we have a responsibility to share nature's blessings. We offer several agritourism opportunities on the farm, from farmstays to day visits. It is our goal to create a space where our visitors can have fun and learn about the animals who share that space. We also strive to serve as a valuable resource for first time goat owners. To support that endeavor, we sell chicken eggs, specialty cottage goods, honey, and natural goat milk and honey products. We also sell raw goat milk (for pet consumption only, as per Florida law).

We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our programming and partners. We welcome all races, abilities, ethnicities, backgrounds, orientations & identities.

Unique Stay Experience -make fun memories and Instagramable Moments! Glamping: You’ll be camping in the city! Couples and Family Friendly! NO PETS, NO DRUGS, NO PARTIES. Please read all details.Do you love Airconditioning and don't like all the work of camping! Ha! :) That's why they set up a Glamping site for you! The best part? You don’t have to haul it or set it up. All you have to do is book it and show up ready to camp! No carrying heavy equipment, setting up, or breaking down! Airconditioning yes! NO SMOKING inside. Our Tiny House-style camper/cabin is situated in the back of our yard, surrounded by the foliage from decades-old camellias. Although in the city, 6 mins from I75, it feels secluded and private.

There are lots of things to do nearby like Wild Adventures and State Parks!

This location is quite special. When they first bought their home, Casey and Mary Corbin didn’t realize that the original owner, the late Mr. Hulyn Smith, was a Big Deal in the world of camellias, a beautiful flowering tree. He used the yard and the lot next door to propagate many camellias that don’t exist anywhere else! The first time the Corbins saw the yard, it was dark outside and the yard was overgrown and neglected, but Mary noticed that all these trees had tags on them, and she knew she had found a treasure. They are currently in the process of rehabilitating the camellia garden and hope to return it to its original glory. In the winter/spring months, the entire yard is covered in a huge variety of blooms- it’s gorgeous!

Nestled in the trees at the back of the property, it really does feel like you are camping-- in the city. The Two Mile Creek runs through the back of the lot on its path to the Withlacoochee River. You can watch the fish, frogs, and turtles, and listen to the water bubble over the rocks. The creek is also in the process of rehabilitation after years of neglect. The property is frequented by wildlife and has been visited by a family of deer, raccoons, possums, squirrels, many species of songbirds, and hummingbirds. There is even an owl we have affectionately named Solomon who roosts in a tree by the creek, and he will “talk” to you as the sun goes down each night.

The “Little Leaf Cabin” is a unique tiny home/camper. According to research, it is one of only 40 campers made by the company in this “cabin retreat” style. You'll be staying in a tiny art gallery as the Corbins are both artists. Original paintings, the natural twisting porch railings, and hand-painted tile backsplash, the artistic touches are obvious throughout. Natural light floods the interior with large windows and a sunroof.

The cabin has a full kitchen (sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave) and a full camper bath (sink, toilet, and little shower). For the sleeping areas, there is a full loft above a bigger-than-a-king bed which is plenty of room for 2 adults and children. Mary loves all the windows and the large patio door for bird watching and the open feel. The decorative fireplace gives the place a nice and cozy feel.

The cabin is 6 minutes from I75, which puts it close to many activities and attractions such as Wild Adventures Theme Park, Valdosta State University, Grand Bay Wildlife Refuge, Moody Air Force Base, and a whole lot more! (See list below).

Remember you get the camping experience without carrying heavy equipment, setting up, or breaking down -it's all done for you! All the comforts of Glamorous Camping including Airconditioning, heat, full kitchen, outside grill, and more!

*Note: We have a zero-tolerance for marijuana use on our property. Our children play in this yard. To date, medical marijuana use does NOT transfer from state to state and smoking is illegal in Georgia. We will not put our family or our business at risk.

    Guest access

From the hosts: If you want zero contact check-ins we can do that. We will usually meet you and show you around. The main house has an art studio/game room on the back. If you are interested in art lessons, open studio time, or if you would like to play some competitive ping pong, let us know! We hope you love our place as much as we do!

**We are currently offering our listing at a reduced rate because we are relatively new hosts and we have plans to add much more including an A-frame Treehouse sleeping option and a dome feature to enjoy. We would love to have guests who are willing to be a part of our growth process! Please tell us anything that would make your stay more enjoyable so that we can get your 100% rating!

    Other things to note

(30 mins) Horse Creek Winery Wine Tasting (5 mins) Numerous Events at Mainstreet Valdosta (5 mins) Georgia Beer Company (10 mins) Numerous Events at Mainstreet Hahira (20 mins) Wild Adventures Theme Park (15 mins) Grand Bay Wildlife Refuge (35 mins) Reed Bingham State Park (50 mins) Paradise Public Fishing Area (60 mins) Stephen C. Foster State Park (15 mins) Raisin’ Cane (20 mins) 5th Day Farm Petting Farm

Although the cabin is in the center of town in a residential neighborhood, it feels as though you really are camping in the woods. Recently while being interviewed for a local travel magazine, this site was referred to as "magical" because there seemed to be a distinct line you cross in the yard, in which everything gets quiet and secluded -like you are in the country. The host family lives in the main house, providing helpful safety and security, yet there is plenty of privacy. You will feel like you are in your own private woodsy world with a babbling brook, a rustic barn, and a circular camellia garden.

    Getting around

Designated parking space with ease of access. Paved streets to house in a nice neighborhood.

    Not too bad

Nice campground and convenient for overnight Glamping. Beatiful moss trees and surrounding scenery. Nice pool and store. Very friendly and polite staff. I arrived after hours and was a breeze with the drive thru spots. Only issue was it was a little pricey. $42 each night after tax.

    Inexpensive on St Marks River

This is the area where Tarzan was filmed and located across the street from St Marks State Park and on the St Marks RV with boat ramp. Sites run around $17 and there is centrally located bathroom and shower facilities. Less than 100 sites and away from the rush of humanity.

    Quaint

Nothing fancy, but a nice spot to stay. They do have bathrooms and shower which are clean. They also have FHU, W/E and primitive. It is located on a busy HWY 98 so there is traffic noise during the day. St. Marks wildlife refuge is right across the street and Wakulla Springs is about 10 minutes down the road.

    Nice spot

Campground was nice and quiet. A little traffic noise but not too bad. It had a boat dock and pier to observe the St. Marks River. The St. Marks lighthouse is so close and a must see during all times of the day. We visited at least twice, once to walk along the beach and the second time to see the sunset. There are so many beautiful sights in the area. We visited Alligator Point and Bald Point State Park. We saw a bald eagle and so many other species of birds. I will return. The host was gracious and very informative. They did have some trouble with the restrooms, they were closed for a short time when we arrived and closed again before we left. However, we did use the showers and the bathhouse was clean when it was operational. I would recommend this camp if you are exploring the area and there is a lot to explore.

Overnighted B4 Paddling the St. Marks

Called ahead and booked a tent site at this county campground.

Brian and Betty were the hosts (BnB!). Brian was very nice on the phone and didn't even come around to collect $!

In fairness, I was there for a short time and dropped the appropriate fare by the door of their RV on my way out.

Nice bathroom facilities gave me the chance to clean up.

There's a boat ramp within walking distance if you've got one!

    Good value small-ish campground

I’m a tent camper. The location is a good jumping off point for seeing nearby attractions. The host is very nice and the place has decent washroom/shower facilities. $15 nightly fee. I did not like the proximity to the busy highway (noisy) and the campground itself isn’t big (although it does seem to cram in these enormous rv’s and trailers). Lot of electric light at night. Ok for a short stay but not very conducive to being out in nature.

    Outdated and overpriced

This was our second time coming to Ragans. Last year I said I wouldn’t be back but we decided to give it another chance. The campground is outdated with what appears to be no attempts at bringing it up to par. We had at least two instances of power outages due to the breaker tripping which is understanding due to the 100° temps but less than ideal and could probably be prevented with updates. Wi-Fi is advertised but you can’t access it which I usually don’t care but cell signal is so bad you need it to communicate. The playground was dangerous with large holes in the metal. The lazy river was infested with dirty bandaids from one day to the next, same ones from the day before not getting cleaned out.

    Seems unorganized

I have called twice now to be told that they are unable to book my stay because the supervisor is away till the 12th. Than I'm told the second time I called that I could call tomorrow and maybe um um oh Diana could approve a reservation for me. Both young ladies was very sweet however they seem to not have much information for customers calling to book a 5 month site.

    Lots to do

There's a water slide pool and lazy river. Cabins are pretty nice, there are atv trails if you have your own atv. You can rent golf carts, there's a store, games (not all of them work tho) pool table. Lots of fun for the whole family. Some of the staff had attitudes when we were there but still had a great time

    Fun filled 4 night stay

This campground has so much to offer for the kids. Between fishing, the pool, the water park, mining for gems and the 3 playgrounds around the park our son didn’t run out of activities. That’s not to mention to activities the campground plans for the weekends that they write on a board each morning with the times.

    Kids Dream Canpground

We RV camped site 10 and it was very spacious sitting right on the lake. This site does not have full hookups but the dump station was half a block away and easy to use on the way out. This is such a great place for people with ATVs. We didn’t have one so we just watched with major jealousy as people took to the trails and came back muddy. There were a TON of kids so our kids had a blast running around. There is close zero cell reception and they have wifi but we really weren’t able to connect and use it. Very spotty. Madison Blue spring is a quick drive and SO beautiful. In all, lots of people lots of cool ATVs to check out, a great little store, hilarious karaoke, clean grounds (with trash pick up all day!). This is a great place If you are cool with lots of people having a great time. If you want solitude in nature, not your spot.

Buddy camped next to our friends in a nice shady site. Lazy River pool and big big water slide was very refreshing after a long travel day. Had a lot of activities for families. This campground has cabin rentals, tent sites and RV camping. Also many water attractions such as a 60 foot water slide, lazy river, splash pad, Water Wars, Down Pour Derby, and zero entry swimming pool. Easy trip into historical Madison.

    Good for kids

It’s right off the highway and felt like they charged for everything. Even having a 4 wheeler which you were allowed to have because they have trails. They charged us for our golf cart also, we owned it! A person drove around all night look watching everything. We didn’t care for that. We were with a lot of people but really? Nice place for kids, yogi showed up on a golf cart that was sweet but the other kids were sleeping.

Quiet No Frills Camping with Lake Views

Visited new years eve weekend and the campground was relatively quiet. The vault toilet was well stocked with toilet paper and kept clean, but there was some trash around the campground. The dock on the lake is nice and there were several people fishing. Good location for hunting the surrounding WMAs. The 3 star review is primarily due to the camping spots marked in cross ties are narrow and some spots are difficult to get a larger camper in. I would visit again.

    Quiet & Beautiful

4 stars for no water or electric hookups.. Also I don't do spiders and they are all over the place here.. And HUUUUGEEE at that. Fishing dock is nice and you can see lots of gators. I don't recommend swimming in the water, its pretty murky. Nice and shady spots and you can reserve ahead of time. Typically empty. We stayed a whole week and afew people came in and out to fish and tent camp. Stayed to ourselves.

    Lovely lake view

For a 26" tt the spot was just enough, a little rough to back into. Entirely worth it. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet place this is it. Be sure to fill your water before arrival as there is no spigot. Full primitive. The vault toilet is pretty gnarly. Still a lovely place to stay. Bring your fishing pole
