Great location for us
We stayed here because we were visiting family in town. It is a nice place, but we felt packed in around all the big campers in our little pop up. Very small sites, but maybe this is normal at private campgrounds? We are used to being out in nature. I also did not anticipate no grills/fire rings. The bathrooms/showers were very nice, we joked that they might be nicer than our house. ;-) We did not need to do laundry, but there are coin machines. We were very bummed to not try the pool, as there were heavy rains the few days we were in town. It looked lovely. We did make it to Anna Maria Island one afternoon when the sun came out and Holmes Beach never disappoints.
Beautiful & Restful
This campground is beautiful. Spanish moss hangs in the trees, the grounds are very well maintained, and the shower house is updated & pristine. We arrived after dark & were told we would need to use one of the pull through sites until morning so campground associate could assist us backing into our site. This was fine since we had been driving all day & were tired. Many RVs there for the season, some which appear annual, and full timers. Good mix & everyone was very nice. The dog park is excellent & there are plenty of potty stations with bags around the dog walk. We rented kayaks one day ($15 for a single kayak for one hour). The creek was gorgeous & easy to float. Wish we would have done that float daily. Would highly recommend this campground & we certainly will be back!
