Very quiet and peaceful.

A beautiful little park with a nice children’s playground. Boardwalk, trail, clean bathrooms, secure showers with passcode given to campers only. Security gate that closes at night. Very friendly and helpful staff. Verizon 2 bars, Starlink 20 to 114 Mpbs with cloudy skies, which allows me to get my work done.  It rained about 50% of the time I was there with temps dropping into the 30-40s at night.

Not great

We drove out of our way to stay here because the reviews led me to believe it was a hidden gem. While it gets high marks for ease of use, ease of check in and is definitely quiet...it is quite run down. The bathrooms are adequate, in that there is hot water and working toilets, but they are run down. The whole place felt like an ancient summer camp in need of some fundraising for repairs and a cosmetic facelift.  The grounds are pretty if you can look past the buildings.

Clean and quiet

This park is a largely undiscovered gem. Large grounds. Clean, well kept. I have never seen it full and I drive by often even when we aren't camping. Great place to fish from a walking pier. Wouldn't recommend swimming here. We have not seen any gators here but it is prime habitat for them and well within their territory. Camp host comes by mornings and evenings. When you arrive, choose any open spot, hook up (water and 30 amp electric). He'll come to you. $20/day.

Overlooked

Apríl 7 to 9, 2021 I had a Sopchoppy River front site w/ water & electric, picnic table & fire ring, bench swing. Sites are first come, first served. Hot shower. (Ask Camp Host, Tom, for key when He comes by early evening to collect camp fee.) $20 per night. Swim, fish, boat launch, pavilion. Beautifully landscaped, clean campground and facilities. Handicapped accessable. Friendly locals are day users & will engage in conversation about the area if you’re interested. Sopchoppy, pop. 500+, is a little known, out of the way, inland Florida Panhandle location worth visiting.
