Paved roads run through Whitestar Campground, a US Forest Service site set within San Isabel National Forest above Twin Lakes. Sites are spacious with dedicated tent pads, and vault toilets are maintained to a high standard. Running water has been unavailable at times, though a large water tank is kept on-site. Campers can walk to the rocky lakeshore, and some sites have direct lake views. The campground fills on Friday nights in summer, so reservations are worth considering. Lake View Dispersed is a nearby alternative for those wanting a less structured setup.
