Positioned about 12 miles from Great Sand Dunes National Park and along the route toward Crater Lake, Sacred White Shell Mountain Campground gives road-trippers a practical overnight stop on BLM land in the San Luis Valley. Several dispersed sites are spread across the area. One reviewer towing a UHaul trailer reached a campsite without difficulty, and the access road appears manageable for RVs and standard two-wheel-drive vehicles. Pets are welcome. Lake Como Road Dispersed Colorado sits just down the road for campers who want a nearby alternative.
