Rabbit Ears Peak Road

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Routt National Forest manages Rabbit Ears Peak Road as a dispersed camping area near Rabbit Ears Pass, a stretch of highway known for heavy recreational traffic between Steamboat Springs and Walden. No designated sites, facilities, or water sources are present. Campers self-select flat ground along the road corridor and follow Leave No Trace and national forest dispersed camping regulations. Several other dispersed areas sit close by, including Routt NF Dispersed off FR 315.1 near Rabbit Ears Pass to the southeast and Dumont Campground to the southwest, giving self-sufficient campers multiple staging options in the same corridor. This spot works best for campers comfortable with primitive conditions and no on-site support.

Single camp sight on road to Rabbit Ears

Nice spot next to the forest road. Several hikers passed the campsite on the road for Rabbit Ears. It's a single spot, the road can be rough getting here. It would stink to drive all the way down the road to find the spot is already taken. Large black bear sighting close to the campsite. Pack in your water
