End of the Road

High clearance is a must here. A short but rough 200-foot spur off the main road leads to this Forest Service dispersed site in the Routt National Forest near Rabbit Ears Pass, where tall conifers provide dense overhead cover. Campfires are permitted, and the area gives access to fishing, hiking, and biking trails. RVs are limited to 25 feet. Campers exploring the region will find campgrounds around Steamboat Springs and nearby options like Dumont Campground less than a mile west. Bring enough water for your stay.

The actual end of the road

Peaceful, great mountain breezes, tall conifers, you need high clearance to drive the 200 feet off the road but it’s like you’re a lot further than that.
