Description
The FR 315.1 corridor just above Rabbit Ears Pass in Routt National Forest holds these dispersed pull-offs in classic Colorado subalpine terrain — open skies, summer wildflowers, and visiting wildlife including coyotes and marmots. The paved access road runs past Dumont Lake Campground to a handful of established pull-offs with fire rings, and the road's end connects to the Colorado Trail and a network of mountain bike routes. The pull-offs run sloped, so leveling gear is worth having; winter access requires 4WD and the road can be impassable in heavy snow.
