Fort Collins / Poudre Canyon KOA

Rough road access leads to dispersed camping spots along a 4-mile loop in this seasonal campground. Barbara B. notes that while campers can't get far off the main road, the area stays quiet with marked sites accommodating both tent campers and RVs. The campground operates from May through September with a 5-day stay limit and allows campfires but prohibits pets.

Recent access issues have been reported, with one reviewer finding the road gated off in 2024. Campers planning visits should verify current access conditions before arriving. The loop design keeps vehicles contained while providing multiple site options for those seeking camping near Laporte without developed amenities.

This appears to be a dispersed camping area with free camping fields and marked spots on a 4-mile loop. Access issues were reported with gated roads, and ATV noise may be present on weekends.

Road closed

The road to get to the site was gated off, so I don’t think this site exists anymore.

Pole Mountain Dispersed

The fields are free to camp and there are wide open spaces for privacy. I got there on a Saturday and the ATVs were roaring through all day and into evening. But hey it was free.
